GTR's are amazing. My friend has one and I drove it for a whole 2 minuets. I haven't driven one using launch control but i've been a passenger, very impressive bit of tech.
I was actually quite disappointed with the interior, just found it very basic looking but I guess money has to be saved somewhere to get a car of that performance at a reasonable price.
Unrelated to the GTR but I've had fun in some toys this week, which all happen to be Audi..

R8 belongs to my friend, A1 is mine
I had a blast in the R8 and I have to admit it scared me a little, it's silly quick. Yes maintenance is very expensive on them but you get a lot of car for the money, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would have one (ha, if I had the money) in a heartbeat.
Next up.. RS5. This one belongs to a family member.

Have to say I didn't love this car as I thought I would. . Beautiful sound when you go for it but not sure if this is correct but it sounded as if some of that noise was coming out the stereo speakers!?
I live near a bypass, which I think is 8 miles of straight road with just a single roundabout placed 1/2 way. You can get a RS5 flat out then back down to negotiate the roundabout and back up again no problem. RS5 is not pleasant and was extremely twitchy, almost as if the steering was not progressing enough with speed it was just staying as light as if you were doing 50mph, electronic steering sucks going fast. It's a very, very quick car but it didn't give me the scare I was hoping for. -

Mechamorgan,
we we can strip and paint carbon. We use carbon specific lacquers plus have years of experience working with carbon, no problem at all.
Feel free to PM me or email james@noquarterbikes.co.uk if you require any more information.

Incredibly, yes.
This Kia clone is what now passes for a fucking MASERATI.
Car design is dead. It's like there's one software package, no plug-ins and nobody can be arsed to write any new code. Upsetting.I know what you mean..
I remember my Dad once saying "you should always be able to tell what car you're looking at, even if it's under a cover" which I believe is true. I'm a huge fan of the traditional Porsche 911 but think over the years the lines have just got softer and the car bigger. Cars these days are build for efficiency and safety which kind of rules out a lot of things. Sloped windscreen for less drag, thicker pillars for airbags, not to mention the comfort and reliability side. I hate to sound a kill joy but until you have a crash in a old car you really don't understand how flimsy they are, they quite literally disintegrate not to mention the chances of crashing into a new car which is bigger, faster and heavier they are even more dangerous.
I'd say most people don't actually give a shit about what a car looks like other than how new the reg plate it and what colour it is which is a shame. I work in a suit tailors one day a week and this is what my manager swapped one of these..

for one of these...
(he was chuffed he got £2k for the merc on the scrapage scheme..)
but seriously, wtf Mercedes?
then..

now..
