We have got a great banner for the Million Mask March which reads:
"AUSTERITY IS A LIE! Now watch as the government take away your NHS, take away your human rights, erode your state education, your emergency services, your welfare safety net, but instead give bankers and millionaires more tax breaks and let corporations get away with unpaid billions in taxes". So very true isn't it?

Yes they are working class! At least most of them are! What about the 1984 miners strike? Were the miners not working class? Or the 1986 print workers dispute at Wapping over the Sun newspaper sacking hundreds of its print workers which led to a year long dispute! Were those print workers not working class? The vast majority of people who turn up at protests against the Tory government are working class too!

One of the reasons we are marching on November the 5th is to protest against austerity cuts to vital public services, while at the same time the government ignore corporate tax evasion which costs this country 119 billion pounds a year! Read this: http://www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2014/09/22/new-report-the-tax-gap-is-119-4-billion-and-rising/ No cuts at all would need to be made if the Tories did not allow their friends in big business to get away with so much tax evasion! The Tories also seem hell bent on destroying public services like education and the NHS.

I notice that after about 6:30 am all the roads in inner London are crammed full of traffic, and still full of traffic until at least 10pm at night. I guess it is because London is just too overcrowded today and far too many people who live in London drive cars! Why can't car drivers in inner London use public transport instead as I often see loads of buses drive past me that are almost totally empty!

The Million Mask March event was to protest against government austerity cuts, the sell off of social housing, the destruction of the NHS, benefit sanctions, the replacement of Trident nuclear submarines etc! That is why thousands of people demonstrated. Go here and tell them that you think they are all cunts: https://www.facebook.com/events/485894658146587/ I think they are working class heroes fighting for the rights of the people of Britain against savage Tory policies.

Last year the march made a very big impact! Have you forgotten the news reports about it already? Read this news report: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11975183/Million-Mask-March-Anonymous-protesters-hurl-fireworks-at-police-in-London-live.html I know it is very biased though as the reporters have concentrated on the few violent incidents that occurred and ignored the reasons why people were protesting. They were protesting against damaging cuts to vital public services and against the sell off of social housing and against Trident replacement etc.

By the way this event was inspired by the film V for Vendetta: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhPw8pdK1UM

By the way unfortunately very heavy rain for around three hours before last years event resulted in a much lower turnout than expected. But the previous year in 2014 at least 4,000 people attended the event. The 9pm finishing time is a time imposed on this event by the police. This event will go on for as long as people want to protest like it does every year which is usually until midnight. There is loads of more information on the Facebook event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/485894658146587/ Basically anyone is invited who is pissed off with Tory government polices like austerity cuts, privatisation of public services, benefit sanctions etc.

By the way here is the Facebook page for this event again: https://www.facebook.com/events/485894658146587/ As you can see the numbers are really low at 19,000. But that is because very few people know that this event is going to take place. Unlike the big left parties like the SWP and its front organisations like Peoples Assembly, Anonymous does not have vast amounts of money to pay for hundreds of thousands of leaflets and posters to advertise its events. If it did then I think there would be around at least a quarter of a million people on the streets for the November the 5th million mask march event.

The best reason for leaving the EU was to stop the deluge of eastern European migrants who have poured into this country in their millions in 2004. The numbers coming from eastern European countries are just so vast that this country simply cannot cope. For example there are 800,000 Polish migrants here alone. These migrants and making it harder for Britons to get jobs and find somewhere to live as the vast migration influx has forced up rents and house prices and created the biggest housing shortage in the history of this country. Unfortunately it will be well over two years before we actually leave the EU.

By the way the Sun newspaper have done a good article on this event, read this: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/1998408/million-mask-march/ It is good that the national media is taking an interest in this protest. Also I thought that I would receive a more positive response to this thread topic as there are now radical cyclist groups like critical mass in many cities. And by the way it would be good to have a pedal powered sound system at this event.

If I was organising an event like this I would put the meet up time at 12noon and then the finish time at 9pm. That would enable people from outside London to get buses and trains home easily. The meet up time for most major demonstrations in London is usually 12noon with a start off time of usually 1pm.

I read a really good book once on how to give up smoking. It was totally non patronising, ie it didn't say much about how much damage to your body smoking does. Instead it took a different approach. It stated that nicotine actually cons you into wanting it by making you think that it helps to relieve stress, when that very same stress is caused by the nicotine in the first place, ie the nicotine withdrawal.
Think about it. Nicotine actually does cause a stressful withdrawal which is then relieved by taking more nicotine which in turn causes withdrawal stress again, like a vicious circle. Withdrawal stress though eventually goes away when you stop smoking for long enough. I hope that helps.

In my opinion cycle sport has ruined the leasurely persuit of cycling. The reasons being sport has placed pressures on cycle manufacture which have totally ruined the bicycle. For example: Ultra thin tyres reduce rolling resistance and increase speed, but mean no end of punctures and terrible road holding in the rain and frost. Ultra light wheels and frames may make a bike go faster but also make it more fragile. Go back just a few decades and most bicycles were heavy but very durable and were built to last for years. Now you are luckly to find a bike that will last two or three years due to them being so light and flimsy and full of complicated easy to break parts. Give me an old fashioned workhorse bike anyday like this one:

By the way if anyone has seen the recent film "I Daniel Blake" they will realise just how evil and heartless the Tories are towards the poor in this country! See this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahWgxw9E_h4
The Tories persistently demonise benefits claimants as scroungers and underserving work shy layabouts. But that is only a tiny minority of claimants. The film "I Daniel Blake" is very long over due and should have come out several years ago!
