I’ve got a cheap one I got from maplins was about £15, it lives in my workshop. It does the job adequately, it’s good for the money. Just not totally reliable on the digital side and feels a little cheap.
Got a mitutoyo one as well and it is super accurate and feels nice to use. It about was 10x the price though and it lives on my desk rather than a cold damp workshop.
You can’t go too far wrong with either for the money. They’re super useful. I use mine nearly every day for one thing or another. I wouldn’t be without one if you’re into making/designing/fabricating/repairing etc
Just get a cheap one then get a better one when you feel the need

it looks like a legit pinarello, it would take a lot to fake the pantographing.
it probably is a montello, I wouldn't doubt that particularly but it isn't the most desirable looking one out there. the earlier frames from the 80s with chrome stays and forks, to me at least, are way more appealing with era correct campag groupset.
I've got a pinarello from early 80s and its pretty special, I've had it longer than any other road bike I've got. definitely worth seeking one out, pinarello frames from that period seem to have something about them and is one of the few bikes I've had where random people come up and start talking to you about it in the street.
500e doesn't seem like an unfair price, buy it if you like it

I bought this by mistake so just passing it on really... it was a private ad with low res photo, bike looked good and decent enough spec for the money, a smallish frame which is what I was after for my girlfriend. So I drove ages to get it and found its on 650c wheels. So it’s too small for her. Even so I drove for such a long time I couldn’t come back empty handed.
It’s not a bad bike though and probably be good for a kid around 8-14 depending how tall they are or someone around 5ft.
It’s a 19” frame with 29” standover height.
Peugeot Columbus Brain tubing frame, FIR EU-90 650c wheels with zaffiro tyres, Shimano 105 groupset, narrow Profile bars chainrings, 160 crank arms, Cannondale saddle but a chopped down seatpost so it will need a new one if you want it any higher. Decent headset and a solid stem. Overall it’s pretty good condition and I doubt it’s had much heavy use.
All working but no use to me. I’ve given it a clean and got it working nicely.
Asking £150 which is cost plus a couple beers for getting it running to a decent standard.
I’m in Brighton but could drop off around or meet part way maybe or facilitate it being collected.

Just acquired this Rychtarski lo pro, will likely change it up a bit over time. Only fitted pursuit bars with cloth tape and saddle so far. Set up as single speed but may run it fixed or geared. I’ll be riding it to work in the nicer days when I’m back in the office as well as just for the fun of it.

I think he uses a puller from what I can tell. having done this job several times, I would say for £65 its worth it sending to that guy.
the old Peugeot gas pipe frames seemed to have it right for this, the seat post collar was clamped to the post and that was about it, so only about 2cm is in contact. had one stick once but it didn't take much to free it off.
electric saw and drilling is the only sure fire way I've found to get them out

I've had luck recently by drilling the middle out and using an electric saw followed by chiselling the remains out. done one stem and two seat posts like this in the last few weeks but its quite labour intensive.
if you're getting it rechromed I would do the acid thing as mentioned above. just soak it in something like water and bicarbonate of soda after to neutralise it so it doesn't rust the steel

I've sold a few things on there, I was making these lamps, no effort to advertise, got daily likes of the thing I had available, sales here and there. pretty easy but the fees where quite substantial. so much so there was no benefit to selling on etsy so I just put them on eBay and saved a few quid.
if you were trying to build an online shop and reputation it would probably be worth using. there were just too many small fees and costs for my liking that added up to a hefty chunk. I think it was something like 20% of your sale price.

thanks, I'm pleased to have found it.
its clearly a guy with a hammer and stamp doing the serials, probably made with a few basic tools and lots of focus on the job in hand.
although this is a lucky find, I will be putting this up on eBay probably. this needs to be restored by someone who's always wanted one of these. it's pretty straight overall so will be a good candidate for stripping, spraying and rebuilding with some choice parts. it would be wasted on me, having only just found out about this builder today
If you’re happy to sacrifice the hanger you could cut it off. One or two cuts up to the thread will be enough to then break it off and not damage the derailleur
