Anyone want this Tiagra lever for a fiver/free/karma? https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/373178/

Probably good for a beater, it is just floating about in my spares box and I’ll never use it. Front is scuffed and the inner lever doesn’t spring back. Although if you have a gear cable in there the gears appear to click through ok.
I have not used this but it appears to be working in terms of shifting gear and obviously be alright for braking. So I can’t guarantee it but it appears to be functioning. Comes with box and cables.
£10 posted sound fair?

if it has a kink or a crack then it is too far gone but if not it can be trued. I've trued up wheels that were like Pringles back in the day when doing trails riding and they were fine.
if you have ever built a wheel you will find it will start out massively out of true, just a matter of getting it all inline. you may only have a couple of loose spokes causing it to be 2cm out.

I would fit forks that are made specifically to take a motor of some kind. Those forks look cosmetically suitable but no more.
If the forks go you are liable to getting the worst kind of injuries. You really want to get it right.
Ideally you would want something like this in the rear wheel I would have thought. Power goes to the rear of a motorbike for example so I would want to replicate that.
Something you may want to look at is a thing called a cycle master. Which is an old fashioned version of this with an engine in the wheel that would be retrofitted. There may be recommendations floating around to make the bike stronger or what is actually needed to stop the frame from failing when fitting a motorised wheel.
I’m just thinking aloud here but to be honest these switch bike things look like a death trap on the front wheel, I can’t believe they sell them in this way to be honest. Selling them for bikes specifically not made to have a motor seems crazy to be.

My old Saracen race elite with raised chain stays, not used in years and just been sat under the stairs.
Needs a clean, headset ideally needs strip and clean as it’s a bit stiffer than ideal. Wire brush and some oil on the chain as it has surface rust. One flat tyre.
Other than that it’s pretty good. This was my main bike for years before I got in to road bikes. All original except for DMR v8 pedals and early morevelo sticker, Shimano Altus gears and brakes, Mavic black anodised rims.
Only selling like this as I’m slim on time and clearing loads of stuff out. Could sort it out and make 100% usable and clean for £30 or so but it’s easy work for anyone to do in an afternoon at the most.
Off the top of my head it’s a 19” frame
£100 and collect in Brighton area

recycling boxes, the type you put glass in are perfect size for records (our local ones are at least). I know someone who has thousands of records and had to move house, he just bundled them in to a pile of about 100 or so, wrapped them in a bin liner and parcel tape.
