It's not the thickness of the tyre, it's how rigid the casing is which makes it not sit and sometimes pop off.

MP are puncture proof, but are hassle, heavy and ride a bit like dead wood..

Yes, I have them on my Brompton, but I think that their puncture resistance outweighs the disadvantages. I absolutely never want to get a puncture on a Brompton, especially the rear. My partner won’t notice the difference between the Marathons she has on her Brompton at the moment and the Pluses (except for less punctures).

Always good to make sure this stuff is in usable order. Even Pluses are fallible.

They looked ok, no rust or anything, but there seemed to be grit in the threads. I cleaned them up when I eventually got them off and regreased. Bike is a daily commuter so gets ridden in all weathers, although it was serviced a couple of months ago.

What’s the most puncture proof tyre for a Brompton? Spent the morning removing and refitting the rear wheel from my partner’s six-speed Brompton to fix a puncture and I’m not anxious to do that very often (both wheel nuts, the nut that holds the chain tensioner and the gear cable nut were all seized).

Current tyre is a Marathon and it’s pretty cut up, but it never seemed very puncture proof even when new. I have Marathon Pluses on my Brompton, but I understand that these are not recommended, even though I’ve not had a puncture since I fitted them.

2pm-10pm I felt absolutely normal
10pm-2am sudden onset terrible cold fever, shivering uncontrollably in bed even with the heating on and inside a winter sleeping bag under my duvet, at one point could barely move
2am-6am less terrible hot fever, crazy headache, couldn't sit still, a bit odd
8am-present pounding headache and lethargy mostly abetted by 500mg paracetamol every 5hrs

Almost a carbon copy of my symptoms after having my first AZ jab yesterday afternoon. I’m 51.

I actually rang 111 as I thought I was having some kind of seizure, the shaking was so bad. The nurse I spoke to told me to take paracetamol and just put light clothing on as I had put several thick layers on. After about 30 minutes the paracetamol brought the shaking under control, which was a massive relief. It’s 5 pm now and I no longer have a temperature. This was nothing like having flu, much more violent.

My advice to anyone having the AZ jab is to have paracetamol and a thermometer to hand. And drink plenty of water.

Yep, I use CDs, vinyl, Qobuz and my own digital collection stored on a NAS. They all sound great.

This is why digital is always going to be better quality than analogue.

I assume you’re trolling, but vinyl sounds just as good as digital on my setup.

About 10 years ago they had a great run of glassware, which I bought for presents for family, some of it has survived - heavy etched vases, and these excellent little tumblers with gold pixellated owls. Sounds naff but actually delightful.

They did some nice stuff from time to time. Bought our Robin Day sofa in there.
