I think you're all missing the point.
I was unaware that there is a way of closing the thread.
if you look at the top of this ad you will see that i wrote
"no longer for sale here as gone to ebay" 2 days ago.
So what rule did i break?????!!!!!!!!.....that's why I'm peed off!!! I've done everything correctly!!!!!....as far as i knew. Now I know there's another thread tool to use.
I have asked Velocio the correct way to do this and he has informed me that there is a thread closing tool, which I've obviously not used yet.
I was just about to, when I saw all these posts.
The previous seller at the time offered me a refund but at the same time mocked me that if I was that bothered with weight then I should simply buy a hollowgram crankset. But I need the BB then and couldn't be arsed to wait for another
It was 18months ago so way in the distant past and I'm not on here to "name and shame". -

Just what we need another classified ad policeman!!! There's so many of you on here!!!!
Pity there wasn't a few of you about when this was sold to me on here as a Ti version and this Steel one landed on my doormat.
If you read above it says no longer for sale here as it's gone to ebay.
If someone else decides to post a link to my ebay auction then that's out of my control.
But to help you sleep tonight......THREAD CLOSED

I had Alfine 8 from Planet X which I had on a Surly Disc Trucker and I had exactly the same problem, I lost all confidence in getting out of the saddle as I felt I would either end up with a mouthful of bars or tarmac. I had several attempts at getting a setup that worked but I never managed it. It then started getting very rough on any gear change and could feel a grinding sensation through the cranks. So took it to bits and was horrified to find a lot of rust coloured watery grease inside. There is a large bearing that was completely covered in rust. I bought a new bearing but when re-assembled it was fucked...it made the same bad gear changes and could feel a grinding sensation through the cranks. The hub had lasted 6 months and 1500 miles. I'd always wanted a Rohloff but couldn't really justify the expense so I got an Alfine 11 because that runs in an oil bath like the Rohloff and assumed it would run much better also the extra gears would give a better spread of ratios as I always thought the 8's ratios were a bit mad. I got the 11 and first few miles were great nice and smooth and better ratios...then fuck me what happened...the cranks slipped just like the 8. I'd spent so much care in setting it up that I knew there was no point in me trying to get it working right...I now had absolutely no faith in Alfine whatsoever. I got rid of it on ebay and a bought a Rohloff, just wished I'd done so earlier. I've been running it now for 2 yrs done 6k miles on it and haven't had to touch it apart from the routine oil changes. Maybe it was me? but I adjusted it according to the tech docs....and there's obviously thousands of them out there, but I wouldn't have one again. A main point of the Rohloff is that the gear indexing is done within the hub and not by the shifter, so the gear changes are always spot on.
I was building a weight-weenie six-evo hm a couple of yrs back and without knowing the specs assumed the Sisl2 was going to be the lightest between itself and Sram Red, especially as it was £700....but when I looked...Red was about 50g lighter and half the price.
I never understood the big deal about Sisl2 and hollowgram.
Anyone care to enlighten me?
