It's not losing air though?

Front tyre on my road bike, only a few hundred miles old... Is it going to explode and cause me to use my face as a brake?

I won't be able to afford that for a while and he does have a 6-week lead time, so maybe that's something for the future... For now I'll just have to play with cleat positions but it's weird that it hurts more sitting down than riding gently.

My knees ache for a day or so after a long/hard ride, mainly towards the front of the inner side. I had a fairly basic bike fit when I got my road bike so I'm not sure whether to go for a more comprehensive one somewhere that includes cleats/etc (£££) or to the doctor (free but not a cyclist)...

Shimano R107 shoes are interesting; can run SPD-SL and SPD/ATAC on the same shoe with a crabon plate under the cleat area keeping things stiff and velcro/ratchet upper and all for £80

I tried these on - the fit is peculiar with a really wide/square toe box and a massive arch/overall curve that keeps going past the ball of any human's foot.

Did anyone else plough into the gravel just before the little rise up into Widford on the way back? It was like riding along the fucking beach.

Yep, didn't see it at all and the chaps directly in front and behind me did too. Quite glad I wasn't on the brakes at that point!

I can't really imagine having much more fun on more spectacular summer evening. I'm not sure riding gets much more fun than that. Good chat, great roads and a good dash at the end. 10 out of 10.

Thing about backlights is you ain't in the best position to judge how yours is affecting the riders behind, so please don't get offended if someone has a word with you about your light and equally, please don't be shy to tell someone if their backlight is giving you grief.

Rolling 37 miles - nice open route for close to the longest day of the year. Usual tnrc drill - mainly ride as a group, finish up with a sprint opportunity for the last few miles. No one gets left behind etc.

Well I can't speak for everyone or the club, as I'm not a member but in my limited experience there's always someone struggling with hills/mechanicals/etc so I'm sure they're used to waiting...

The second time is easier - knowing how big the hills were helped me loads but yeah breakfast/etc is pretty important!

Ah yes, spotted! How did you find the route? Being on the back is particularly tough as every time you catch up, the rested group moves off again...
