plastidip isn't as durable as powdercoating, a scratch on plastidip could make the whole thing peel over time, but it's the cheapest way to get really nice fluro matte colours
Apparently it's durable enough to be used on floors.
I understand the product also comes in gloss and metallic and no doubt many other effects too...Re peel - that could be seen as a good thing, as you could just peel and respray. Could also be more durable against knocks from locks etc and aid frame protection...
I saw the product and was/am intrigued by the possibilities, its decent quality (for what it is) and its relative low price.
Maybe warrants being its own thread instead of highjacking this on? I'm fairly new to LFGSS so forgive me if I've gone off topic.I should probably add that I've had a bike powdercoated by Armourtex in 2008 and it's holding up well and I don't work for plastidip or related company ;P

Anyone else see a guy on a black bike , black Lycra top , black face mask with black hot pants and socks over his knees? Seen him about 5.30 going over Westminster bridge. Strange man !
I think he lives near me in Blackheath. I often see him just after leaving home and occasionally on the New Kent Road. Always looks like his saddle is about six inches too low.
Oh you just given me a flashback.... saw something/someone similar on Whitehall about 8:50. All black one piece(?), black cap, with a v determined look on his face. double shudder.
Strong look though!Seen him once, still troubling me. Luckily I only do Whitehall mon & fri...

Has anyone ever considered using plastidip or similar product?
I bought a similar product recently and used it (incorrectly) to coat my 10 year old bike helmet. Would have been ace job if I had the sense to follow the instructions properly, but am fairly happy with the result and possibly the best thing is that it can be pealed off without damaging the surface underneath. I'm surprised there isn't any chatter about it on here, or is that for good reason?

Aha. I thought they were trying to race...
Having heard him speak very briefly, I can understand why he's called DublinKevin #properaccent -

I just don't get the socks or whatever they are with the not so hot pants. Also if commuting to work, where are his work clothes. Unless he's a stripper of course! That's it, he uses his thighs to cling to the pole. shudders
