South Downs gravel sportive aftermath below. Almost literally no gravel to be seen :D The route must be a great one when its dry though, and enjoyed it regardless. A little warning/caution sign would have been nice from the organizers before a high speed gravel descent takes a turn onto an off-camber wet clay slide. 6/6 people I talked to crashed in the same spot. But fear not, when we had to cross a road on a pedestrian crossing at some point, plenty of caution signs :) Lets hope I'll be able to move my right arm tomorrow.
And anyway, Im just a roadie, I dont even know how to properly ride a bike. But yesterday certainly taught me some! Bike was 10/10, but I definitely need to sort out my gearing.

ps: looking at pre-ride photos I just realized I basically sanded off the black anodization from my cranks. ehh

Anyone going to the South Downs summer sportive ride this Saturday and has a spot in the car? Or any other gravel adventure/fondo/race for that matter. Got an unexptected weekend off on my hands.
Edit: its conveniently located next to a train station with direct trains from Victoria, so im going if I can get the bike together by Saturday (brake pads, tyres...)
Anyone got spare tyres with a bit of life left they want to sell on, let me know! Ive only got a set of full slicks, and it might rain a bit...

Whats the opinion on matte black "stealth" bike with some silver accents? Im talking about this build, it will have full carbon wheels with no AL breaking surface. All black, except:
Aerozine seatpost collar

King cages

And Sram brakes (ive got a few set of these, they are lighter than DA, good enough performance, and Ive got spare parts. Also got a 7900 DA front, might find a matching rear for that instead.)

edit: inb4 opinion is: "Boring."

Restaurant got flooded a bit, so some time on my hands. Finally got around to finish the Dolan.
First, I cut out the chunks with a hacksaw (I just picked up my dremel the next day)

Rough shape after some filing

Bits and pieces that came out

Then an hour of grinding, sanding, and filing later:

At some point ill clean up around it, and give it a lick of paint, but for now, it'll have to do. Probably I'll do my track accreditation in Lee Valley in the near future.

ps: thanks @hippy !

A lot of bike for the price on Facebook marketplace. The presence of all bells and whistles suggests it isnt stolen, and super old facebook account.
