Although not ebay, thought Id ask it here. Its not the first time im advertising something on FB marketplace, but its the first time I experienced this. I put up a TT disc wheel, and within a few hours 4 profiles contacted me.
3 profiles of middle aged central european women with no cycling/tri related content on their profile, seemingly no friends/contacts from the UK. 1 profile of younger woman with 2 total pics, and profile is a "digital creator" page with followers instead of friends.
All are asking for in-person pickup, then say it'll be their brother/sister coming to pickup, and they are asking paypal/bank details and to mark the item sold.
Im about 99% sure that its a scam, but whats the scam?
Oh and im happy to be wasting their time, its a moody saturday afternoon.

Ok now do mine! How do I use a 1" threadless fork in a headtube with integrated headset made for a 1 1/8" forks? (to use Cinelli Alter stem on my HHSB)
Turns out its a thing in the BMX world, but I'd need it with a 36x45 bearing with 41mm OD for my frame.

Fizik tritone 5.5 TT saddle -£30*£SOLD
Shimano Dura Ace 2x10sp barend TT shifters ( SL-BS79) - £SOLD at £30Tubular hillclimb front wheel + smashed up matching rear -
£80£75*£SOLD at £60
Pre Reynolds era Lew 40mm carbon rims laced into White Industries LTA road hubs. 16h front 20h rear.
The rear rim is smashed up, advertised as front wheel + rear hub.Front wheel weights 764g with a Tufo S33 pro 24 tubular which is 310g. Accounting for 10g glue, the wheel itself comes in around 444g. It comes with the usual things you'd expect from a rim this weight, wavy surface where the spokes pull, but no pulsating feeling under braking, brake surface is running straight.
Rear wheel is 682g with this rim. Rear hub is 10sp titanium shimano freehub body, but if you were to lace these into a new rim to give them a new life (as they deserve!) you can run them with 11sp with these mods (credit for this goes to @aerodynaMO on Timetriallingforum, im sure they're on here but cant remember the user name):
1) Get a Edco monoblock 11 speed cassette (be sure to get the LOCKRING TEN + ELEVEN)
2) Get a Shimano 105 11 speed 11/34 cassette CS-HG700-11
3) Get a Shimano Ultegra 11 speed 11/34 cassette CS-HG800-11
4) Have 1.85mm professionally removed from the rear carrier of a Shimano 105 (CS-R7000, CS-5800) or Ultegra (CS-R8000, CS-6800) 11 speed cassette (can easily be done by a machinist)I personally ran this wheel with methods 3 & 4, no clearance issues around spokes etc.

To be fair to Ironman they merely franchise races out so have zero* input into race day this is solely on the people running the operation in Ireland.
It comes down to whether theres proof that IM was/wasnt aware of Triathlon Ireland's decision on the day. If they were aware, they also have (at least moral) responsibility. Obviously this is just my opinion, not a legal fact.

So, I bought a bike for my brother to get into tri, and it came with a short cage 6870 RD. When we were setting up the bike, I put it on my direct drive trainer for him to ride as we adjust seatpost, stem..etc. Like the proper idiot I am. The trainer had a 32t cassette on, and I havent checked the limit screws either...soooo we managed to twist the RD behind the cassette. Great.
I found a job lot of broken/for parts 6870 RDs on ebay, 4 of them in total. Reached out to @Di2_GP who has been incredibly helpful with tips and tricks on how to disassemble these. I managed to swap the servo from my brother's twisted RD to one with a broken motor but functional body. Then started testing the rest of the job lot, turns out 3/4 has a working motor, and one of them was basically in a working condition after I cleaned its di2 port and gave it a rebuild. Love when these things get a second life!

Disclaimer: no formal training in the topic, just curiosity got the better of me:
Using this corrosion rate calculator, and these parameters:
-In one image, I count 15 pinholes on a roughly 20x3cm area (accounting for it being a curved surface, so ~6000mm2, but thats a guesstimate)
-Each pinhole is ~0.5mm2 (at least?)
-Colombus Zona is 25CRMO4, and has a density of 0.00775 g/mm3
-Middle of top tube is 0.5mm thick, for sake of simplicity Im ignoring curvature and calculate each pinhole as 0.25mm3 material removed. Times 15, times density: 29.06mg metal weight loss
-Frame is 6 years old, we'll assume proper storage of materials before buildCorrosion rate comes to 104.1 micros/year, which is categorized as very high, with this definition: Coastal and offshore areas with high salinity. Buildings or areas with almost permanent condensation and high pollution. Does this describe your home? :)
All this is armchair engineering though, tester will come in a minute and put me in my place. But anyways, tubes look very clean from the inside.
Edit: frame is 7 years old, my bad. Wont recalculate, but you get the point.

Both Challenge Samorin & IM Warsaw bike course was around 5% shorter than anticipated. Challenge London was advertised as middle distance, but it was organized as an 80km course from the get go (before Challenge takeover), and ended up being a smidge under 80.
Congrats to those racing in the past week or so, some very impressive results!
My Challenge London went meh. I havent put half the preparation into it than I wanted since Warsaw, but hey I had a fun summer. The swim was really really nice actually, averaged 2:15/100 which is on par with my previous openwater swims when its not choppy. I was gonna take this race leisurely, change to a proper bike suit, then running gear instead of trisuit. in T1 the toilets marked "MIDDLE DISTANCE ATHLETES ONLY" were ziptied shut, wasnt very well received by the athletes...
Bike course was a bit annoying with road quality around excel, otherwise OK. No markings to show distance to aid station.
Then I started running, 6 laps for a half marathon. First lap went great, second lap went OK, and then I had a choice. I can dig myself into a hole and finish it while straight up not having a great time, but for what? Its not even a middle distance race so its not like I did another half ironman. It would be my 3rd slowest half marathon (out of 4, ever), and I know full well that I dont have enough miles in my legs to do this proper. So after 2 laps on the run I just hopped the fence, checked out my bike, chalked it up as a stronger training session, and went to have icecream. It was a good day :) But now more determined than ever, prep started for next year... :D
