However, it's quite risky undertaking traffic, it is highly recommended to filter on the outside rather.
I fully agree I rarely undertake for this reason (I never undertake vans or lorries full stop). But it's very difficult to start overtaking on a road like this where in the inside lane is moving relatively slow (and constantly changing speed) while the outside lane is still moving fast.

I'm a bit confused: Did he not check his mirrors before turning?
Or were you accidentally moving from behind him to the inside of him?He overtook me about 500 meters previously (he said afterwards he saw me) - then further along the traffic slowed down - I undertook 1 car (still on the cycle path painted section) and was just about to undertake him when I saw his indicator come on, then turn, then bang.
-
Surely if he has turned across your path then he is at fault, whether he is indicating or not?
I think you are probably right now I have thought about it. TBF the guy was very apologetic, gave me a lift home and offered to pay for any damaged on the bike (he was also a cyclist) but nothing mechanical was broken or bent so my reaction was just to say forget about it. Don't know if I should of done anything differently?

There's this big long dual carriage-way in Plymouth with a cycle path and loads of left hand turns into roads/garages. Today I was on said cycle path and a car pulls left into said garage. I was 10 meters behind him when I saw him indicate. Couple of seconds later I was on the floor with 5 people stood around me. Luckily I glanced off and went a tumbling. We both agreed it was mutual accident - turns out he was a cop off duty. Superficial grazing, sprained wrist, one finger now larger than others, minor damage to bike. In a weird way I feel kind of happy I've had a crash and that it wasn't a lorry.

I'm tempted to buy this just for the novelty/rear wheel

My chain came off and snapped one of my spokes on the rear wheel.
Took it to lbs (in Plymouth - not many other bike shops) and they said they cant get the needed spoke until late August. Looked online and can only find them in one place for £30. I don't want to pay 30% of the wheel's value just for one spoke.
Anyone know which ghetto spokes would be suitable for the wheel? plus, how does I do the repair myself - is it an easy job - it threw the wheel slightly out of tru and when I've tried to tru wheels in the past I failed miserably.
Any help?
its these exact wheels

^^ Nice Look, Sandbag.
When are you back in Kenya? Do the Savannah Classic with me on September 1st if you're here.
Don't think I will be back in Kenya until next year unfortunately but that ride looks great (if a bit daunting in the heat but the swimming pool at the end sounds like a life-saver.), bet there's a chance to see some wildlife on the way too.

Bought this as a temporary replacement while my other wheel was getting fixed. I've done less than 300 miles on it. Virtually no wear on the rim, runs tru and no marks anywhere else. Takes a shimano 8-9-10 speed cassette.
