Do I need shiffting pins and ramps?

Not really, in my (limited) experience. Depends on how fussy you are I guess but I’ve happily used cheap plain front big chainrings with no shifting issues.

Not going to be a problem, don’t worry. And don’t paint the frame, it looks awesome! Just clean and wax it, maybe some linseed oil on the rust spots.

Also bought a used tiagra hydraulic groupset for the kona commuter/possible tourer. Will need quite a bit of tlc after this salty snowy winter anyway and I’ve wanted to try drop bar hydro brakes for a while.

Our little guy went outside yesterday and didn’t come back as expected. So far he hasn’t been away for very long at a time, always checking in with us every few hours and then indoors overnight. Possibly been chased off by some other cat, there’s lots of them around here. Hope he turns up today, kids are quite worried...

You want something reasonably basic/alkaline. Idk any product brands in the UK but the spray on stuff I use to clean the glass in our wood burner is basically potassium hydroxide.

Edit: too slow. Oven cleaner sounds like a good option too. It's sodium hydroxide (lye).
