If the bike isn't made for 700c forks/wheels wont this mess the geometry around? Better to stick with the current forks and run the proper wheels.
It will mess the geo around a tad. Not sure specifically how it'll affect the riding/steering, my friend's bike was set up like that for a fairly long time and he didn't seem to have any problems with it, was his first fixie/road style bike to boot so he wasn't even remotely experienced with that sort of geo.
Just speaking from personal experience.
You can get 27" rims and do it that way, 700c are just a little easier to come by, you could also get a brake with huge drop on it which could equally work.

Reading Hidden Empire by by Kevin J. Anderson, first volume of The Saga of Seven Suns.
Enjoying it so far, looks like it's gonna be an epic space opera series :)
Read that a while ago, not followed it up but it was a fantastic book, IIRC, starts off a bit slow but really picks up pace. The laser duelling was a favourite of mine.

Just started reading The Most Amazing Man Who Ever Lived by Robert Rankin, finding it pretty damn funny already and the bloke who wrote it is a fantastic fellow. Great singer/banjo player too.....
Also started reading The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon which I'm finding rather splendid too!

It's a wicked thing to have until you lend it to light someones fag and get a load of quizzical looks. Explaining that it's a thing from a comic book never really seems to help. I don't even mind communism that much.
Aye, I can imagine that'd get you some weird looks, just need to pick up some white trousers now and it's all good. Quite tempted to make a Saint of Killers coat/revolvers now.
Almost finished everything by China MiƩville.
It seems as though the weirdness / fantasy aspect is a little arbitrary at times, and is almost just a MacGuffin.
Still, I like the complexity that he builds in to his plots, without being circuitous.
I think that's one of my favourite things about him, that he's able to make the plots really nice and complex but easy enough to follow. Some Sci-Fi writers end up with ridiculously complex plots and the reveals are a bit lost in just how bloody complicated they are, whereas I've found Mieville hasn't disappointed yet.

FUCK YEAH - absolutely the best comic series in forever.
*I have a 'fuck communism' zippo because I'm a nerd.
I think I need one of those now. I managed to finish the entire series in about a week, bloody brilliant, would have to agree if it wasn't for Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman, still on the fence as to all time favourite but Preacher is definitely in the running.
Moved onto The Long Earth now which is pretty interested and getting into Catch 22.
That's the one.
