Hello mate. Yep, that's the thing. Just take the filter basket out and put the rubber seal in. A teaspoon of detergent and you're good to go.
oh, hang on, i was thinking of the 'frothing jet device', as the operating manual calls it - the little black thing that sits underneath the basket - I presume it's not that?

Mrs G's been given some sort of card through work that gets 2-4-1 at Il Baccio and Abu Ruchu. I know where I'm eating this weekend.
as in, in stokey? is it that 'eat local' card?
i know there's something doing the rounds that gets you deals on n16 type area places to eat but never found out what it is

haha it's not as hard as it sounds honestly.
you should come along to the finsbury park park run. everyone meets at the cafe in the centre just before 9am. it's a good way of getting you out of bed early and making use of your sat morning.
it's a great atmosphere and there are plenty of people doing it. i was really surprised by the turn out and always feel better for making the effort afterwards.
yeh it sounds fun, just seems a little pointless as it's so short... guess could do a few more laps afterwards!

So, did about 45 fairly undulating miles in around 2 and a half hours. Was a beautiful morning for it and felt great to get some fresh air after a pretty horrible week of office-based nonsense.
Some of the climbs were definitely more painful than they used to be and generally lost a fair bit of power, but the running and commuting has kept the basic engine ticking over nicely. Just need to build dem leg muscles up again. Back and neck felt pretty achey as well, not used to that length of time on the bike.
I reckon if i get out every weekend and add about 10% each time I should nearly be back to where I was in terms of form in a couple of months.
Going out for my first 'proper' ride since about october tomorrow (injuries / exams / lots of other shit causing the hiatus). Really looking forward to it, but also kinda nervous! Going to aim to hit around 50 miles, not going to try to break any records, just start getting the miles in the legs again.
Going to be cold but ace...

The pork has been pulled. Just had a taste of the pan juices, which was probably pretty much purely pork fat, but god it tasted good.
Gonna serve it with red cabbage, red onion and beetroot 'slaw', home made baked beans and pittas. I feel disgustingly hip.
Yep! I'd be more "worried" that my dreams would be influenced by the constant delicious smell, and the i would sleep-walk into the kitchen and eat the thing and wake up to find nothing left

Will do. Gonna head out around 10am once its warmed up a little and any ice has sodded off.
Going to aim for my old lanes of essex / epping and try to incorporate a few of the short sharp climbs in and around the forest to test myself. Have been doing a fair bit of running so know my heart / lungs are good for it, but think the thighs are going to really suffer. Just gonna try to ease myself in i think...

So, this seems pretty on-topic...
I'm having mates around for food on sunday and mentioned the idea of pulled pork, and now they#re not letting me forget it.
One recipe mentioned 8 hours of cooking / roasting, others as little as 3. I don't have time to sit in and keep an eye on a bit of pig for 8 hours, but i guess the longer it's left the better. Anyone fancy sharing some good recipes / methods with me? Can you get away with a cheat's pulled pork by doing it in 4 hours or so?

So, digging out an old thread here, but why not!? Everyone knows that bread is clearly the best carb - pisses all over rice, pasta, potatoes, grains and whatnot, awesome for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and comes in so many glorious forms.
Been baking quite a bit in the last few months, and am getting a sourdough starter on the go at the moment - any key tips on how to keep one of these beauties alive? Have been sticking to busting out a malty / seedy / wholemeal tin loaf and want to start expanding. As sourdough is pretty much the greatest thing ever it's the natural progression. Also, trying soda bread for the first time this weekend. Looks easy - which means it will go horribly wrong.
And has anyone got any top tips / recipes to share? Nuknow / wellisit looking your way here...

Ridiculously excited about seeing Cult of Luna in Sheffield later. There's quite a few 'studio report' videos etc floating round on youtube at the moment, seems like the new album is going to be quite electronic and harsh, and even more spacey that before. So they're yet again adapting their sound, something that makes them ace in my opinion.
If the snow fucks anything up I will definitely cry.

For the very brief time I was there, was most enjoyable. My promises to return were scuppered where I got drawn into buying rounds. A round that took too long to complete. Was too hungry after 4 pints to return to the Butchers.
Proper appearance next week I hope.
