I had a couple of Fig Rolls (shitkicker range from Sainos) this morning on an early ride and they seem to do the job, but as you say, they're quite hard to get down - a bit dry and need a lot of chewing. I boshed them whole but probably two smaller bites would be better.
Taste great though. Love the sleazy 90s vibe

Slight change of direction but on similar theme to milk vs protein shake etc....
Am trying to eat less 'science food', especially energy bars, and relying on more normal stuff. Still eat energy bars, but not so much, and I use gels still.
Food-wise, its mostly home made rice cakes, Soreen, and bananas so far. Have just invested in some fig rolls but am yet to use them, and am probably gonna try dates too.
What other 'normal' foods do people go with? And if anyone is already on fig rolls and dry fruit, how are they working out? Fig rolls stack up well nutritionally from an inspection of the packet.

Yeh, well, i definitely burnt through my jersey yestreday then. MENTAL -
I was riding in Kent for around 4 hours yesterday morning. Suncream sorted me out ok, but is it possible to burn through a jersey? I swear my shoulders are burnt this morning and obviously didn't lather them up beforehand.
Drank around 4 litres of electrolytes whilst out and still had a piss the colour of mountain dew when i got back

My twopence:
Western diet probably does not provide enough of everything we need, and certainly does provide too much crap, which can be managed by being moderate.
But eating well, and supplementing in key things (i have read a lot saying Omega 3 supplements are definitely worth it) and at key times (I always have whey after training) is necessary if you want to try to get the best out of your riding.
Whilst things like milk are awesome for recovery and general health, I certainly wouldn't rely on chowing just two pints of that and a banana if i'd just put in a 4- 5 hour hard effort in order to replenish my body.

Ive lost the bastard little black rubber plug for my Gaggia that sits in the portafilter, underneath the basket.
I've ordered one from a supply shop place before after someone on here pointed me to the website and said what the thing is.... anyone got any ideas? I've forgotten.
PLEASE HELP! I need espresso! Got an aeropress and V60 but not in the mood for them now

Dear all iberital Mc2 grinder owners ( @TTM )
Do you have the doser version or the normal one? Am i right in thinking the doser just chucks out a 7g grind each time? Is it worth the extra ££?
I guess it makes life a bit easier as although I'm a bit of a coffee geek, I've not got to the depths (or heights!?) of weighing stuff yet.

I think I need a new Garmin as my 800 is dying. Was thinking of getting an 810 as a bit of an upgrade and the wireless upload seems good as my laptop is shite.
Am i right in thinking that the 810 can run 'cycling dynamics' or whatever it's called? I have a vector and so would like to be able to get all the extra info that 'dynamics' provides.

Already do mate! Well, I make the Skratch Labs ones, which are jam and cream cheese. I add some secret twists to mine. What makes me such a cycling powerhouse.
What's the EFRCT thing you refer to above? You eat sod all on rides. reckon i get through a lot more than that
