Thanks for the reply. Would rather get it right, took long enough to track down the hub :,) I assume it’s just a case of buying 28 generic washers and rebuilding with them? Any grease required? Thanks again

Just built my first wheel - pretty happy with how’s it gone so far, and planning to get it checked over before installing. However did notice bigger than usual gaps beteeen the spoke and the flange as it leaves the hub - it’s only a 16” Brompton wheel so the angles are steepish anyway - but does anyone reckon it needs washers? (Cable free Brompton trial and error photos coming to the Brompton thread soon!). Cheers all :)

Trying to build a coaster brake wheel for the Brompton. Constrained by a 36h hub, and have the option of a 28h or 32h 16”rim, or custom drilling if necessary. 36 spokes seems a lot for such a small wheel. Do I have any other lacing options? Thanks :)

Which derailleur is that?

Never seen carbon fork on a Brompton, I assume for good reason? There are 16” carbon forks available - not sure of the quality.

Planning to build up a Sturmey S2C Hub on mine - can anyone foresee any issues with this on a brommie?

Evening all. I’m looking to build an S2C hub onto a 16” velocity rim for a brompton. The rim comes in 28 and 32 hole, whilst the hub comes in 32 and 36 hole drillings. I’m about 70kg, and it’s just for light commuting. Can anyone recommend spoke number (and therefore which combo of rim and hub drillings) and cross requirements. Have seen this done with as few as 16 spokes with allegedly no issues, but don’t really fancy breaking spokes. Thanks for any help :)
