I have a Garmin forerunner 35 and it seemed to be recording just fine this evening. When I tried to sync it, lots of general data went across to garmin connect but not the actual run, and when I tried to upload it manually it said the file was corrupted. I think I had maxed out the memory on the watch as now only the last 2 days activities are saved, I've cleared all those and hopefully it won't happen again. Annoying but at least I didn't lose the data of a race or anything (that would have pissed me off no end).

I have:
- a flipbelt (mine has two compartments so I can fit quite a lot of stuff but I find belts always move around on me)
- decathlon vest with a bladder (can fit a fair amount, lots of pockets)
- osprey rucksack with bladder (love this bag so much, fits tons, stays still on my back when I run)
- fucking massive rucksack that I run commute with as I have to take my laptop home every night (HATE this bag and it hates me, I've got chafe marks all over my back from this hateful bag, would not recommend)
- a flipbelt (mine has two compartments so I can fit quite a lot of stuff but I find belts always move around on me)

It was near Wuxi, eastern China. There are some decent hills and small villages and temples and stuff. Officially it wasn't a race (they're still banned), it was a "sightseeing trip" but other than the police trying to break it up in the morning it went smoothly. Two distances, 50k and 30k, 1200m elevation for the shorter distance. Nothing crazy technical. Tooooo hot though, it was 25 degrees last week - guess I need to reacclimatise ready for summer (35+ degrees and 90% humidity)

I pay someone to slice it all off every now and then, it's quite gross as they put on a head torch and get really keen about showing me how much they've taken off (spoiler alert, it looks like they've taken off an entire foot). I've also had bits tearing off and flapping about, as well as blisters forming underneath big chunks of skin. I feel sorry for anyone who sees me with bare feet.

Sky lanterns are shit, fireworks also a bit shit but I have to say I kind of miss them - fireworks are totally banned here after a) one burnt down the CCTV building in Beijing and b) there was a stampede on NYE in Shanghai and loads of people died.
I'm writing this with a mask on my chin, feel kinda guilty but I have to balance compulsory mask wearing with breathing and being able to drink coffee.

Yes, but even easier to tell is to look at someone's ID card, which states where you are from - you have to show ID to do tons of stuff and there are spot checks too. Local building management knows where everyone is from (we have to register our addresses with the police) so Wuhan people who live in other cities may have a hard time getting to their own apartment as the building management sometimes won't let them in. A friend told me that cars with Hubei registration plates (there's a separate identifier for every province) are having a hard time driving in other provinces as no one will let them park or access private roads etc.

This is interesting, a lot rings true from my experience in Shanghai (always very different to Beijing). The description of the tent made me laugh, what they missed out is that in addition to the gazebo where you have your temperature taken there is usually a small 2-man tent for the guard to have a nap.
Beijing announced yesterday that anyone arriving in the city has to show a certificate that they have tested negative, but none of us know how we would get one of those so I guess I am never going to Beijing again (not a huuuuge loss). We have an office there and it's odd to think we have no idea when we can see our colleagues again.
Wuhan is now open, people from there being HEAVILY discriminated against.

I wrote up the ankle advice that @greenbank posted and put it on my fridge. Its much easier to do all these things when working from home - alas, I've been in the office all week so I have to try to ice without my colleagues seeing.
In the spirit of honesty, I've barely done any of the exercises this week. I set a new 5k PB last night (LOL still slow) and my ankle is massive and painful today, not sure running again tonight is a great idea. Hmmm.

Schools are reopening in Shanghai starting from the end of this month - final year students first, as the college entrance exams are still on (albeit delayed a month). Kind of hoping primary schools don't start again until after summer as I live next door to one and it's noisy. Weird to think that things are so normal here again, can't help but think we're all going to get struck down by a second wave.

We definitely won't get any real figures here, so have to read between the lines.
Officially, we have beaten the virus and we devoted today (first day of tomb sweeping festival) to commemorating the martyrs. Lots of people out and about (it's 20 degrees and not polluted). However at 5pm we were all kicked out of parks, and apparently they've built a new field hospital in one of the outer suburbs (that has officially only had 10 cases EVER). Lots more anti foreigner stuff, including that foreigners now can't get tattoos, LOL. Second wave of the virus is coming sooooo soon (if it's not here already). I still have a green code but I know it can change colour for any reason whatsoever. -
I hope this picture works and isn't the wrong way round. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone and especially @Greenbank, ankle is totally fucko but I'm feeling confident for the future!

Trad Chinese medicine is widely pushed by the govt as it's much cheaper than real medicine (or as they like to call it, western medicine). Lots of state funding and propaganda etc. I've seen tons of articles claiming that TCM cured coronavirus cases - never mind that it's probably "cured" the people with mild cases who simply needed to rest in bed for a week. I imagine a relative of someone high up owns a big TCM factory.
I tried fixing it to no avail - when I looked at the file manually almost every row had an error. Bit weird really.
