Who installs the black box? The insurance co?

Can my cats tell the time? They get fed at 7am, 1pm and 7pm, and a few minutes before the feeder goes off they run over to it. When it ticks over to the allotted time the machine makes a small noise before the food comes out about 15 seconds later, but as far as I can hear, there's no noise before that.

If I try to do anything in the 15 mins before feeding time I end up with noisy cats trying to trip me up. I can never finish work at 6.45 as it's easier to stay put until they've eaten. Hmmm maybe my cats are working for my boss??

Ah yes, helping with screws and bolts - mine do this too. It's why there's a lamp in pieces on my living room floor.

Euphoria

I just finished season 2, after binge watching season 1 and the two special episodes so I could watch the finale of s2 as it aired (partly so I could share all the Euphoria memes). A lot of things in it really resonated with me, though the massively well-funded drama department is unfortunately not exactly how I remember secondary school.

Exactly my views on it, such a great show. I rewatched Season 1 recently and was surprised at how different it was to later seasons, but in my opinion the difference was all for the better. Pretty dark in places. Has not done wonders for my business french.

I used to think that any walking at all meant it wasn't really a run, so seeing those times really puts things in perspective.

One of the (only?) good things about living in a country that has killed most of its wildlife is that we don't have canada geese, or any other sort of geese. Honking bastards.

I took Celeste to the vet on saturday, trying out the anti-anxiety medicine the vet gave me last time. For her, not for me. Though I kind of felt like I needed it too. I felt bad drugging her, but (once I eventually managed to get her in the case and get her to the vet) the vet said that her heart wasn't beating as fast as last time (200bpm last time - "only" 180bpm this time) although poor Celeste was CRYING actual tears (I didn't know cats could do that... heartbreak).

For the rest of the day, Celeste was super cuddly and needy, wanting to be on my lap. Maybe the anti-anxiety meds, maybe the vaccines... whatever, I cancelled my plans and lived my best life as a cat cushion. She's climbed onto my lap a few times since - perhaps becoming a lap cat? An exciting and very welcome development if so.

I wave more when it's particularly bleak weather. Shanghai doesn't have tons of runners (compared to Europe) so if I see another runner there's a reasonable chance that I know them, so it's best that I try to be friendly.

Has anyone else done rabies vaccine + antibody titre tests for their cats? Did you get boosters before doing the test? My vet suggested it could be a good idea to make sure that the antibodies are high enough, but taking Celeste in particular to the vet is such a fucking pain.

Either that or they will get their revenge by waking me up at 5am for the rest of eternity. Oh no wait, they already do that...

I think they would be ok with it if they were near me. It's actually more like 15+ hours, with a refueling stop - it's pretty awful and I feel terrible inflicting this journey on them.

I have an additional incentive for Meabh to lose weight, as if the two cats weigh less than 8kg together I can have them in the same carrier as carry on luggage on the plane, rather than making the horrible decision of which one goes in the hold...

I would tickle that belly.

She really does need to slim down a little, for her size she should definitely be under 4kg :(
