I'm concerned about my seat collar going in the future as I seem to have to get it quite tight before it secures the seatpost.
Possibly try using some carbon installation paste (even if it is an alloy post)? - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/tacx-carbon-assembly-compound-80g/

^ Oh hell yes!
If you're going for crabon rimz, on eBay they do 38/50mm deep rims that have a 25mm-outside/18mm-inside bead width = more volume for comfort / more surface area on road / better cornering / thicker higher strength bead / etc etc... with the newer "U" shaped profile like Zipp are using.
And they do 24h/28h, but will do other spoke drillings if you ask nice!

Exactly. Paint is personal but 1000AA is wrong in this case. (Just kidding). Agree with joe, red paint is shit on almost all bikes.
:(
Is not red paint, so is ok...

From a quick google fu, it might well be.
I noticed a variation from 27.0mm to 27.4mm seatpost sizes on different bikes, all built with Columbus Max.
Get down your lbs and get a vernier gauge thingy on it to be sure.
