Just bought a pair of the Endura top ones, which can be had for about 90 quid. The pad is incredible... though that's off the evidence of just one short hill repeat ride so far.
Will report back, but early signs are they're more comfy than: Assos S5, Chapeau green pad, Rapha Classic, Exteondo god-knows-what.

Saw my first Full Wiggo Wanker!
Many flip flops out too.
And a charming Boardman city bike rider who, upon me overtaking on his right, decided to half-wheel me up OKR on the inside with me spinning out the SS, and him having the luxury of gears. Dude, I just wanted to go past, please don't keep me out here with the motos and the white vans. -

Most of how you learn to drive a car should apply to how you ride your bike, save for the being more cautious thing. But leaving distances between vehicles, keeping space from parked cars etc - that's the same on a bike as it is in a car.
I guess filtering is the big difference. It's pretty obvious though? Don't ride inside a giant vehicle that squashes people. Don't people read the news? -

Looking forward to the update where they increase the tiny font size though.
Christ yes. Thought it was just my fading old eyesight, but I have to sit on the floor to get closer to the tellybox to play it.
Changing the subject, anyone got any online co-op recommendations for PS4? Me and my mate have pretty much exhausted GTAV, apart from the Heists - but the heists are nigh on impossible to do if there's just two of you needing another two randoms.

Paul Smith is about the one bloke I won't begrudge doing this sort of thing - jumping on the bike bandwagon and charging insane prices. He's just a lovely, lovely man. Have met him a couple of times when I used to shoot at London Fashion Week (daaaaahling). We'd get the interview done and then, despite the fact he had other interviews to do and a catwalk show to run, he'd still stand around chatting bikes for ages - didn't know me from Adam, just loves cycling so very much.
And thus ends my namedropping. -
I imagine that it's to stop people coming in, trying on top end shoes, finding the right fit and then fucking off online to buy them cheaper. But, you know, that's the risk you run.
Daft thing was, he even told me to go home, use the Bont shoe fit wizard from their site, and use the suggestions from that to make Bespoked Cycling's life easier. Fair enough, were it not for asking me for £50 up front.
I get that they're trying to be high end and exclusive, and I get that internet shopping fucks over bricks and mortar. Making people feel like they're obliged to buy before they've even tried on some shoes is dickish though. -
I've got some old Rapha ones which are a bit too big - thin pad which doesn't do too much. And I guess the slight too-bigness means they chafe a smidge too.
I've got some DHB ones which I sized down. They cut off the blood to my legs.
Not fun to wear any padded pants all day long to be honest - the pad will keep your bits hot and sweaty, which provides a fertile ground for breeding bacteria, which then leads to what you're trying to prevent - saddle sores.
So the best thing is to bring spare pants with you to work and change in the loos.
And many days you will forget your pants and swing free, free as a bird. -
