Definitely this. "Gave you the wrong details" sounds like a pretty old trick to me.

Dude, that sucks! I would personally say that James was completely in the wrong if the twat gave you wrong fucking account details.
If it was a company then a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman should probably be made, but for individuals it may be trickier. Of course he could be scamming you as well. Perhaps if you contacted the Police they might be able to get the bank to release the details of the account holder (I think I heard someone had to do this on Moneybox - a radio 4 programme)
I hope someone else here can provide more useful advice, and good luck. My transaction experiences on this forum have always been fine, but it just takes one prick!

It was called The Bike Guru, is was one of those pop-up business type things, running out of a small space. From what I've heard there was a cafe at the front and a workshop out the back.

Wow! I lived Colchester for two years and never saw it. Coffee ride sounds like a fucking great idea too.
