Hi all,

I have a Gazelle AB frame which I'm looking for a wheelset for. My question is, how do I know 1) what size wheels I need, and 2) how big my brake drop is going to be after I add them?

Doing some rough measurements by intuition, I got a 50mm break drop if I add 700c wheels, which doesn't sound right to me. That being said, my measurements were very rough and imprecise.

Any and all tips welcome.

edit: I should probably also mention that the widths are 100 front and 126 back, and that I'm building it to be a single speed (preferably with a flip/flop), just in case anyone has any offers.

I guess I have to undibs, since I already have a frame I'm supposed to be working on. in all honesty, 90 is not bad at all (still pending pics) but 60 quid was outrageous.

Ha! Bought the same exact one from sjs a few months ago. Very cheap, and it makes you stop. I actually needed a bigger drop than 57mm, and there wasn't much choice for a low budget.

I tried the Shimano R451's (57mm) and their drop wasn't long enough. I was told I needed a 59mm drop. From what I can see, only Tektro and Dia-Compe make brakes with longer drops, but not many shops sell them. Getting hard to find a cheap set.

Hey guys, any advice/offers for a set of 59 mm drop brake callipers? My primary issue is cost, I'd like to keep that as minimal as possible.

Thanks for the help, I think I get it now. As long as I keep to roadbike brakes with roadbike levers, I should be ok. Cables don't need changing, I can use the old ones.

Hey guys, bit of a noob question, so please bear with me.

I have a single speed (model irrelevant) with flat handlebars. On the documentation for the Shimano R451, it says they are only to be used with a bunch of shifter levers they sell. Can I use these brakes with normal flat handlebar levers?

Does anyone know why they discontinued the normal macbook? Is every single mac owner a professional video editor/graphic designer/dj? Apparently it's now a profession to sit at starbucks vegetating on facebook.
