I'm not so much searching for the identity of a component but looking for a specific piece and a review too:
1) Looking for a brake lever to fit a bullhorn. All visible aspects must be silver/chrome/polished
2) Thoughts on strapless toe cages/clips?

Just how crazy do you have to be to ride an OTP track bike on the road?
I've pretty much boiled my purchase down to two possible bikes, which are very different from one another.
The first is the Langster Steel 61cm: http://www.specialized.com/gb/gb/bc/SBCProduct.jsp?spid=65570&scid=1101&scname=Road
The second is the Felt TK3 60cm: http://2011.feltracing.com/United-Kingdom/2011/Track/TRACK-Series/Tk3.aspxOne is a total poser bike for hipsters (but, I am afraid to say, love the look of with the stickers removed) and the other a machine built for speed (ok, it's an entry level track bike.... but it looks fast). I'm very much into athletics of all sorts and feel that the TK3 suits my desire to whip through the London traffic.
I also feel that it will cope with my 6'4" (194cm) 16stone (220 pounds, 100KG) better than the Langster. The alu frame seems bomb proof.I'll put bull horns on either bike I buy for riding through the city (although I am also interested in trying out Herne Hill). The question is if it's stupid to try and ride the Felt as a commuter/transport type bike? Would a carbon seat post help at all?
Also, what sort of components would I have to change? Tires (can anyone tell if they are clinchers or tubs)? Front rim for a brake? Gearing so it isn't quite so hard to pedal on the road? etc.
Anyone with a similar bike I could try out on the road before I put the money down?
I have the Langster and it's fine on the street, indeed it's designed for the street rather than the track. I've ridden it at HH and found it to be perfectly usable if a little sluggish, it's not the stiffest of frames. Having said that I'm a similar size to you, albeit slightly lighter, so you shouldn't expect excessive flex. I've swapped out the chainring, handlebars, front brake, seatpost and saddle.
Totally agree on the aesthetics once the decals have been removed, a lot of people double take as you pass.
Wheels for both bikes are clinchers.
Just how crazy do you have to be to ride an OTP track bike on the road?
These days, not at all. Road and track geometry are essentially the same apart from a slightly higher BB and slightly more trail on track frames, and neither of your suggestions will be stiffer than a high end road race frame. The Felt is much the better track bike, so if you're going anywhere near a velodrome that's the one to get. You don't need a new front wheel, the anodising on the Felt wheels will wear off soon enough.

Not Ron Cooper bikes, but bikes made by the people that brought you the Mini Cooper.
http://www.cooperbikes.com/road-bikes.html
http://www.evanscycles.com/search?query=cooper&x=0&y=0There isn't a single thread concerning these bikes on the forum, and I was interested in peoples opinions.
They were released in 2009 and don't update the model spec each year, so there never discounted. They just stick with the same models running the same spec. All the news articles (read paid advertisments) are pretty gushing about their use of British parts. Is the praise actually warranted?

I need the silver pair. Let me know if tomoh opts out. I'm thinking of putting them on this:

Ok, here is the bike I am considering buying. It's a Felt 2011 TK3
http://2011.feltracing.com/United-Kingdom/2011/Track/TRACK-Series/Tk3.aspx
I have a couple of questions about the components, mainly because I will be riding it around town and because when it comes to bike parts I don't really know how to recognise what they are, and are not capable of. Feel free to point out how I could do this myself (via website etc).
1) If I attach a brake, will the paint wear off the rim? Is the rim machined?
2) Would a flipflop hub fit if I removed the rear wheel and hub?
3) What would the wheelset be worth on the forums if I tried to sell it off?
4) I read that there wasn't any toe overlap on the 60cm frame. Can anyone confirm that via the geometry?
5) I also read that main chain components are difficult to find source because it uses 3/32 instead of 1/8. Is this really an issue?
6) The gear ratio seems high for cruising around town. How hard would it be to change, or should I just HTFU?
6) Anyone recommend a good pair of bullhorns and brake unit to fit?
7) Are they tubs or clinchers?Cheers!

So here is the bike I am considering buying:
http://2011.feltracing.com/United-Kingdom/2011/Track/TRACK-Series/Tk3.aspx
being totally ignorant as to bike parts and such, I have a couple of questions that forum goers might be able to answer from the 'Technical Specs' that my limited knowledge can't comprehend.
1) I've read that their isn't any toe overlap on the 60cm frame. Can anyone confirm this via the geometry?
2) I know it is a fixed rear hub, but would the frame fit a flip-flop hub?
3) I'll be attaching a front brake, will this eventually cause the paint on the rims to wear off?
4) Are the rims machined?
5) What would the wheelset sell for if I tried to do so on these forums?
6) Are the tires tubs or Clinchers?
7) Can anyone recommend a nice set of unbranded black or white bullhorns with internal cabling that would fit the headset? If you would prefer to educate me and point out where to find this information or how to figure out this information myself, that would be great too.
Cheers!

So here is the bike in question:
http://2011.feltracing.com/United-Kingdom/2011/Track/TRACK-Series/Tk3.aspx
I'm primarily going to ride it on the road, but before I commit to buying it (and being a complete bike novice when it comes to parts and such) I just wanted to know about the hubs, rims and tires.
Note that the questions will probably appear to be very apparent, but are not to me! So I appreciate any answer I get. Or, you can simply point me in the direction to find this information myself...
1) Are they machined?
2) Are the tires tubs or clinchers?
3) The frame would accommodate a flip-flop hub, right?
4) What would the wheelset sell for if I were to sell it here?
5) I've read that there isn't any toe overhang on the 58cm+ frames. Can anyone confirm via the geometry?
6) Anyone recommend a good set of bullhorns for it? Preferably without branding and with the option of internal wiring.Cheers!

THis is something like the Deal of the Century.
SOmeone please get on this!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Icebreaker-Paramount-Hooded-Womens-Jacket-Large-/170698597245?pt=US_CSA_WC_Outerwear&hash=item27be6de37dI've got an Icebreaker jacket, and can attest to their supremacy over anything else available.
A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G (off the rack).
I bid on the Mayfair (large) that he had available (even though the cut isn't that good for me, I figured I could get it tailored for the price) but was outbid at $165US. I did, however, manage to snare the Womens (medium) version for a close friend of mine in the USA for about $125 delivered. I just hope it fits her!
Thanks for the link!
I'll be check his auctions in the future. -

Or a Fuji Classic Track? They are all around the same price.
And yes, I know I should ride them all but there isn't really that possibility with this one as it doesn't Wiggle doesn't actually have a shop front in London, nor does the place selling $360 Fuji Tracks.
I'm interested purely from a component/specifications point of view.
Not sure if serious...
