if you can stretch your budget go for ultegra rather 105. bit more expensive but much better quality materials used and better fell when braking/shifing. i have just fitted 5700 to my caad5 and i am not impresed when comparing it with higher spec models. no black option though...

the same happened to me on ultegra octalink crankset shortly after the build (brand new parts). it stopped after few weeks and i assume that parts were just binding together

if you are after shimano groupset, price of 105 is quite low at the moment- e.g. ribble or merlin cycles have it for approx. £300 delivered. this is the cheapest i have found so far. probably new 105 is on its way...

what ultegra model is it? also, double or triple and what size is the derailleur clamp?
