Siding with TS. Acoustic archtops are super specialist guitars, dry, attacky sound, little sustain. Are you sure you want that? Is your name Colin and do you aspire to play chord-melody jazz? Eastmans are high-class imports but I don't much like hand-rubbed style sunbursts and in terms of resale it's got a dink in the top tube. And that ain't cheap to me...

Great project... if you're going with toaster-style pickups, why use humbucker-sized ones? They're arguably not as good-looking, unless you're thinking of replaceability with something different if they don't work out? Alternatives for me would be Firebirds as tilover suggested (actually quite different construction to mini-hums, the jangliest of Gibson humbuckers especially if low-wind) or Harmony type goldfoils. Oh and design-wise I'd rethink the top line of the scratchplate as it looks like a Fret King, but that's just me...

Thanks for starting the thread... very much feeling this at the moment. My folks are in Coventry in a retirement flat. Mum is 90 and in fair shape but dad is 100, no less, and has fibrosis, so a whiff of pneumonia will carry him off.
I was due to visit on March 10 but my brother nabbed that day (doing a good job by sorting them a new mobile). By about the 12th I began to realise that a visit from a Southwark dweller who had been on buses and in taxis in recent days was looking less and less wise almost by the hour. So... called it off. Luckily for me there's understanding and zero guilt-tripping from them, but mum is upset and I honestly dunno if/when I'll see the old man again.
Sadly attempts to get their Skype working again have proved problematic as mum can't use the simplest technology and dad has very little sight left.

Enjoyed this film of the 1988 Manx rally. Cossies and Lancias galore, 205s, a Starion, some fab M3 driving and McRae Jr throwing a Nova into a bush.

I just measured my Bigsby, a B3 I think, and the strings leave the top of the roller bar en route to the bridge 18mm above the guitar's top at a point 140mm from the butt of the body... maybe you could figure out a way of transposing that point onto the Riviera and eyeballing the break angle to see if you might need a B7 or not...
If the only option is a screw-down Bigsby my inclination would be stay with the Frequensator. Tis a handsome thing.

Not nearly as cool as a Super Champ, but just dragged out my own Rivera-designed combo to check it still works. 1981-ish Yamaha G100-112, all tranny, about 45lbs (oof) of very very loud and surprisingly warm cleanliness. Two channels, pull fat/pull treble, 3 band EQ plus parametric, quite nice long pan reverb. Cost me £75 without a speaker. Currently has a Deltalite 2512, this could be improved...
I never realised Jay Graydon and Dean Parks were involved too...
