I did this for realzies on Buckingham Palace Road, by Victoria Station. It was my bike and lock, and I'd told the police I was going to do it by e-mail a week before.
Took about 5 mins, at rush hour, and noone said anything. Someone even walked past and smiled as me.
It was the day of the tuition fee increase vote/protest though.

So I went to fit a rear mech on a alu frame I aquired and saw this:

Bending the hanger in line with the dropout will mean losing 2 sprockets.
I don't fancy getting it stripped then trying to bend it back to see if it cracks (the paintwork is sexy). The frame says 'Campagnolo' on the top tube: i'm hoping that that means it's got steel campag dropouts which might be more malleable. It doesn't say campag on the dropouts themselves.
Anyone ever bent a dropout on an alu frame successfully?
If not, is it possible to get an 8 speed cassette (or a 10 speed with the 2 biggest sprockets removed), and a spacer to fill the space where the chain would be rubbing the dropout at the moment?
Any advice appeciated!

Mine was creaking a bit, LBS said the BB bearings were gone. It had done a fair distance though, probably more than 500 km.
I changed it a while ago. I'm trying to swap the cranks and BB over to a new frame but can't get the drive side crank off. Wasn't a problem last time, maybe I didn't grease it enough.
Pretty sure there's a ring holding it in place, but if there is I can't get it off. Also tried smacking it through with a rubber mallet. No dice.
Any ideas?

I'm in tokyo for the next week, anyone know where I can buy a Keirin jersey? I just went to punch cycles in asakusa, I tried my best to ask in japanses, but he said he didn't have any for sale. He didn't look too pleased to see me, spose he doesn't get many Gaijin Keirin fans visiting.
Saw some pretty mad 3rensos and Eddie Merckx frames at least.

I'm with giffgaff as well, but have been pretty dissapointed by thier outages. They don't coincide with o2's outages either. Sometimes it's just voice calls, sometimes data services, sometimes both. Probably only once every 2 months, but usually at crucial times like Friday afternoon/evenings.
Thier payback scheme is alright though: i've earnt at least a quid just moaning on their messageboard about outages.

This works well enough with just espresso, vanilla vodka and a dash of sugar syrup. Tia Maria taints the flavour of the espreso imo
