Fittings or pipes themselves?
I don’t think the issue is with pipe work. To be fair plastic has been long in use in the industry
Fittings in plumbing aren’t put to the same extremities as it is in other use. Thinking O rings and seals in the automotive industry
Typically we would use butt fusion in connecting two lengths of pipe but won’t see a small enough machine for 25/32mm pipe (well I’m not aware)

being pestered to consider redoing the bathroom - few questions
to tile straight onto the wall - do i need to do any prep - they were skimmed recently i presume from the previous owner - i think the only the wall where the sink/toilet and pipes come out is damp/crumbly
what is best to lay over the wooden floorboards - should i consider an aquapanel(?) pb or will mdf/plywood work, the lino in there currently sits on some ply wood

The searches are a set price. Line cost £230 I believe which include indemnity insurance because our property came up on the church/parish whatever you call it search
So maybe the top end is for any surprises that may happen and getting indemnity insurance
Edit: remembered the search. Chancel
Assuming your London. You can check how much water and waste search is from Thames water. The one that differs is that of the local authority. -

depends on how useful the space is/will be
we have one (easy to gain approval i would assume i.e buildings regs/PD) but with kids and a small kitchen which has been extended albeit not much I would like to knock it down and put an extension as done by most of the houses on my road
its cold in the winter (like now) and hot in the summer never in between even though the previous owner fitted a radiator in there
