I nearly came a cropper this evening by a pothole in puddle combo, off to report it now.
I had an annoying follow up email the other day from Lewisham council saying Honor Oak road isn't a priority this year. It's a fucking hazard cause it's so busy, fix it you gits!
The Council has recently (in 2012) completed a detailed structural condition survey of all its roads (this was last completed in 2001). Data from this survey has been used along with information from our regular visual inspections, and a number of other factors, to develop the resurfacing list. The number of roads resurfaced each year is dependant on the amount of funding available each financial year. I'm afraid that Honor Oak Road has not attracted sufficient priority to be included in this year's resurfacing list.
We do safety inspect every adopted highway on a regular basis. Any area which the inspector thinks may become an imminent danger to users is noted and a repair arranged. Unfortunately the Council's budget for highway maintenance is limited and we focus on repairing the worst areas in the borough. We do not currently have the resources to repair areas that are simply worn and unsightly, but not considered hazardous at this time. Our inspectors will continue to monitor the condition of this road and will arrange for any necessary repairs to be carried out.
If you note any particular defects please let me know giving a precise location and I will arrange an interim inspection.
I hope this is helpful.
regards
Imogen Payami

I'm wondering why I still own my Triumph and thinking of selling it.
Why do I?
Does anyone want to buy a black 2006 Triumph Thruxton in good nick with loud pipes, flyscreen, bar-end mirrors, alarm and a full service history?I reckon you'll fall back in love with it when the weather cheers the fuck up, bring on the spring.
inchpincher , nice to know the good brands, thanks
i note pacsafe ftw
Pacsafe's are wicked good. Used them touring many times, so useful as a place to secure you're helmets etc when visiting a POI and peace of mind when parked up that your shit isn't gonna be opportunistically nicked. Pictured here on my triumph fitted under the rack and holding my tent, sleeping bag and mattress. And yeah, I've got sat nav like the old man I am (it's awesome).

Seems a bit OTT for just one journey. Whip the wheels off and lash it all together with gaffa tape then bungee against the top box would be my method if pushed. But you'll have to do the reverse when you collect, sounds like more hassle than worth. Although i did get three bags of cement and a pillion on my bandit once, not recommended.
btw, best bungees ever invented are Rok straps, used them today in fact, cracking product. They kept this lot lashed together for three months...

TV, went to Frimley Green once though, have a picture hugging Co Stompie!
Whilst I'd say the quality of scoring is higher in the PDC events, I think the drama of the BDO wins me over, these guys who've played all their lives, from all corners of the world get a chance to prove they can keep their bottle in front of an attentive crowd. I think Adams is looking composed, my tip for this year.

I report on average two potholes a day using that app, my maximum was 8. I am the pothole police. Tfl and Lewisham council tend to send an email thanking you for the attention and are the most diligent with road repairs. You even get to tag a picture of the crater if you can be arsed to stop in the middle of the road when you notice it.

^^^ note re: drilling. Small drill/hole = fast speed. Large drill/hole = slower speed. There are differences according to material being drilled but if you go too slow the steel work hardens and blunts the bit. Proper drill bits are what you need, they can't be bought in screwfix etc either. Presto and Dormer are two engineering brands that I use in the workshop.

I have an ankle problem so have been off the bicycle and on the motorbike the past fortnight. Two products that I have found revelatory are Nikwax Visor Proof and Pinlock Visor Inserts. No more fogging and the rain disappears from my vision better than ever. I am back in love with my Arai.
