More here:
I quite like the white bits. I've no idea how easy it is to keep that Lizard stuff white; FWIW something vinyl-y like Fizik Microtex or cheapo Bike Ribbon stays very clean with a bit of soap and water. It's less cushioned but I have a couple of layers of hockey tape under Bike Ribbon and that does me fine.

It would be good if everyone reported back on their train experiences too so we know whether the advice given on here is sound or as fantastical as the guards' often seems.
Brighton to East Croydon, Saturday afternoon, late Feb: Turned up on spec, no probs, no hassle, lots of room. Experiment hopefully to be repeated on a sunny Summer weekend in the not too distant future. Will report back! (Worst case scenario, I need to stock up on flapjacks and cycle home. Ugh.)

In the end it's all down to preference and even that can be changed.
Very true. Took me a while to get used to SRAM after Shimano but now, even running both on different bikes, I'm more than happy with either. They're just different. I like the clickiness of SRAM, and the rock-solid brake lever, but changing down a gear feels like a little less effort with Shimano. Swings and roundabouts.

^ Yes, I've used the PX team saddle and Fizik Arione, and they are very similar shape. You get what you pay for, with the PX saddle being prone to sag a little after a while (lack of carbon reinforcement which you get with the Arione, I guess?), but it's barely noticeable and should serve you well on a polo bike I would've thought.

^this is a good idea, especially for all the forrunners.

This looks great, cheers!

I've mentioned it before but I'm very happy with my Lifeline Ti cage. 22g,

Actually yes, because I'm a fan of the cockpit. (Not so much the saddle, aesthetically.) Bonus marks for black wall. :)
