To the man I encountered on the road yesterday morning in Banana Hill village, Nairobi:
Your donkeys are stupid, and leaving the driving decisions to them is ill-advised. Yes, you looked a boss as you surfed your metal cart while your two tethered donkeys galloped gaily down towards the junction with the main road. Your mad skillz aside, I was not confident that your donkeys, being mammals of lesser cognitive function, would be able to recognise that they should not just plough straight across me as your slip road merged into my main road. You were certainly not communicating with them to stop, standing silently as you were with hands on hips, admiring your speedy progress.
Having made my donkey-neuro-assessments, I swung way clear into the right (oncoming) lane to give you space and true enough, your donkeys spilled onto the road with all the elegance of two uncoordinated 200kg beasts tied crudely to a cart. Their knowledge and consideration of the Highway Code, if Kenya even has one, left much to be desired.
Sort it out. You will crush somebody by proxy-hoof if you do not slow your donkeys before junctions. May they shit on you in your sleep.
mammals of lesser cognitive function - fabulous phrase

The story about four Aussie test players being punished/deselected/sent home from India because they did not respond in time to the managements mail asking them to suggest the three improvements, did make me wonder about how corporate professional sports is now and smile and grimace a little.
I am loathe to say Batting, Fielding and Bowling would be the improvements but I will anyway

All the hysterical screeching after first innings show was a little grating. So last evenings showing was satisfying.
As a captain Vaughan was ace - his media work seems to me to be less natural, and a bit same as everyone else but because I'm saying it it means more.
Its a good England team and there are very few assured places, NZ have been much better than everyone expected. This test is not over but I agree a draw

On the way home last night the bolt holding the rear deraillier shifter to the frame popped off outside Wordsworth police station, couldn't find the bolt so I decided to go back to Evans. I showed James from the shop what had happened and he took the bike and put a new bolt in, with a little loctite as well. I was expecting to pay a little but he just said glad to have helped.
I was really grateful and just wanted to say thanks.

I wonder if the best way of really dealing with him now is to just ignore him, by that I mean no publicity - court cases lost/won ( no coverage ), attempts to gain sympathy ( nobody wants to interview/know ), the assosciated bullshit about becoming a whistleblower and in turn getting cycling dropped from the olympics, seems to me to be media spin by LA's experts, could be done ninja style.
Take away the fuel and the assualt stops.
I dont want any of the folk who enabled or turned a blind eye to remain.
I doubt it'll happen but it would just damage his strategy and manipulation.

So Bresnan injured, Andreson knackereed. Bring in two from Finn, Onions and Tremlett?. This last test could be fun-our faster bowlers vying for places.
Its a good sign that we have not batted that well (our reliables have wobbled) but still found a way to win.
