Anyone up for a ride this weekend? I'll have my newly re-sprayed frame built up and itching to get some use out of it before doing the Herne Bay ride next week
Hey Stu it looks like I won't be back in Brentwood until early September so we might miss each other. Do you have any routes you've been doing lately mapped? I've only been to there a handful of times.
Some planned routes will help motivate me to go out when the horrible winter weather inevitably comes.
EDIT: just seen one ride already mapped (must try harder when reading threads)

I'm not sure 'a little crash' would loosen your cranks Jack.
I would have a good investigate to make sure something hasn't bent.A people carrier pulled out from a side road which resulted in me skidding into it, hitting it with my face and coming off the bike. Luckily my worst injury with a tiny cut on my nose and scraped balls? (not sure how that happened).
Ever since the two arms have been just slightly loose - I thought it may have been when I bounced off the vehicle the bike hit the ground funny. I hope it's not serious.

I had a little crash on my bike, and now the cranks are slightly wobbly. Not much but it's annoying me. Do I need to buy/borrow a tool to tighten them, or is there a household tool my Dad would have in his garage.
I know they're not cottered cranks, they kind of look like a big allen key would do it?

Can't tell you too much about the rest of the route, but turn left up Redbridge Lane West, and head through to Wanstead - that will take you off the mad bit of the A12. And wave to me from the Roundabout.
The other alternative is to go down Wanstead Park Road, through Ilford and pick up Romford Road.
This was what I was thinking. By the flats, through Stratford and along Mile End road into town.

A406 down to the Beckton Roundabout then third exit..... the red circle forbidden signs are just for tourists really, I wouldn't worry about them.
I thought about that, or possibly going out on the M11, round the M25 and back in. If I catch the slipstream of a truck or large van I'll be there in no time at all...

Would they be welcoming to a club noob turning up and riding on their club runs? I saw some on the glendene site, but the distance varied and there was no indication about speed.
I don't want to get dropped on my first time out with them!
