Thanks dooks.
The old practice amp is not long for this world anyway, it was part of a 'beginners pack' when I bought him his first electric 6 years ago (he was the tender age of 9 !!!), and was not even new then, and has been spending the past few years going to / from school and is not in very good condition, although does work. Basically we would not be crying if it did blow up when a bass is connected. I will contact Cornelius Blackfoot about the amp that he has.

Hi all,
my son is thinking about getting a bass guitar. At the moment he plays an Ibanez GRG 170 (his own), plus sometimes a Squier P-Bass at school (belongs to the school). He has been really enjoying playing the bass and has saved up some money to buy one so he can play at home. Problem is that he does not have a bass amp. He does however have an old 10 watt practice amp (don't know what brand, works OK with the Ibanez guitar). I was wondering if the amp would work with a bass guitar until he buys a replacement (it is not a bass amp) or if he should save up some more to get a bass amp at the same time as a bass guitar. And also is an Epiphone Thunderbird a good buy at 200 quid new, or is there anything else he should consider. He is very keen on getting a Thunderbird.
And yes I know that I should be going into a music shop, which we will be doing, but I don't want to walk into one completely clueless and buy something unsuitable. And if someone can recommend a friendly knowledeable music shop for beginners please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Cunt of the day who at first run up her mouth expressing opinions on cyclists taking up space on the road, then trying to ram my trailer and the spewing loads of abuse and even calling man dem for backup. All in front of her own child and while on the phone. Reported.

Unfortunately for the cunt I live nearby and followed her all the way home. Yep...
Gosh, that is a really good photo EEI - I wonder if this could be used in court.....

I am well aware that it is me that has the problem, and that I am the only person that can sort this out. Eventually we may fall in love and get married / have a 'civil ceromony' and have (adopted) children. And you have all made me realise how shallow I am. Or, more likely, I will spend my life 'forever alone'....

Depends on how she was otherwise, if the hairy 'pits were the straw that broke the camel's back that's cool (so loads of negatives, she wasn't a looker, dry personality etc), although if it was the anvil that broke it (just her hairy pits unecessarily outweighing all her other plus points)
then you sir need to salvage that shitShe is really nice, and I fully admit that it is me that has the problem, this is based on a previous girlfriend that I had a really bad experience with - this involved trips to the doctor / clinic etc....

Lead by example- depilate your entire body before your next run together, then strip at the end of the race and make sure she observes you in your smooth majesty.
She will see the error of her ways at once, and sprint to the waxing salon.
Gosh, I have opened a big can of worms. I do shave my armpits / other areas regularly as I feel a bit cleaner doing this. I think that my problem is due to a previous girlfriend being hairy and not looking after herself in a hygeinic way, and equating a hairy person as being unhygeinic. So yes, the problem is in my mind.
Dammit - I am smooth, but definitely not got a majestic body !!! But yes it is smooth !!!

It's not the wrong decision at all.
If you're that shallow, you're probably doing her a massive favour.
I had a previous girlfriend who was hairy in this respect, and also she was not hygenic, so this i what started the alarm bells ringing. Yes I probably am shallow, but I would like to date someone who has basic hygiene skills.
I am also aware that my spelling skills are lacking.....

I am quite shy when it comes to asking people out on a date. I went for a lunchtime run with someone that I get on with really well, this is a regular thing. We seem to get on quite well. I have been thinking of asking her for a date for quite some time, and was going to do so at the end of the run, but she decided to take off her t-shirt to cool down - as she was doing this I noticed that she had hairy armpits, so I didn't ask her for a date. Was this a wrong decision?
Sorry if this seems strange but it has really been bugging me!!!

Hi people,
I don't post much on here but I need a bit of help. I need to know if the bus lane on Marylebone Road westbound only operates at certain times, or if it is in operation 24 hours per day. The part I am interested in is between Regents Park and Baker Street.
I need to know this by Monday, but am not able to get there myself. If anyone knows this info please let me know. Many thanks in advance.

Will try some lube.
It just seems odd to me that MY bars are so unreceptive.
I thought all MTB bars were standard dimensions. The outside diameters of bars are the same, but the internal diameter can be different, ie. the thickness of the tube can vary. The Hardrock probably has quite thick bars, which is why it is difficult to get the plugs in. I have fitted plugs into quite thick bars (carbon rather than alloy) by padding the face of the plug with thick cardboard and tapping them in with a hammer.
Hope this helps, Rich.

Someone on a Langster luring a cabbie out of his tincan for a proper face to face at the fucked up Wellington St /Strand junction tonight. Six of one, half dozen situation; people were behaving suicidal.
that was me, was waiting to cross and it was chaos, i let some bikes go then went to cross, a cab went through the red light. a guy on a bike next to me bumped into me and i nudged the side of the cab. i said to the guy on the bike 'this is fucking chaos', the cab driver got out and wanted to fight. i got off my bike and eventually agreed to fight but he didnt want to play.......
i caught up with the guy that bumped into me halfway across the bridge and we had a chat and lots of lols -

I have the following cranks:
165mm on commuting bike (fixed)
170mm on my beater (fixed)
172.5mm on my geared road bike
175mm on my MTB.I do notice a difference but, as Hippy said, it does not take long to get used to it.
It is worth noting that different length cranks offer different benefits - ie. shorter may be better for high cadence riding (ie. track), longer ones for when you may be pedalling at lower cadence but need more leverage (ie. MTBing).
The new crap phrase in our business is 'you own it' - well no I don't own it, I manage an office that contributes a profit towards the directors wages and the shareholders dividends...
What made me really laugh was at a meeting last week, one of the directors was hosting a meeting and said 'remember, you own it, whatever'.... sounds like he wasn't buying into it either.
Obviously this anecdote would be funnier if you were at the meeting....
