Oh ok, I guess so yes! I always leant more towards ply for longevity. But, this stuff is moisture resistant and a fraction of the cost so what's not the like...
Its going to be an office in the short/medium term and then a bedroom one day. I think I'll go down this route and save what little money I have for everything else. Thanks all!

@Grumpy_Git as replacement floorboards. Current boards are all over the place at varying different depths. It’s a very small room so seems easier to rip is all up and lay something flat.

I'm about to embark on this (March) and insulating from underneath as access is good.
We're installing 150mm omnifit insulation (depth of joists) which initially will be held by netting until we get some pipework altered and then we're adding a wind tight breathable membrane over the top to reduce the "wind washing".
I'm hoping we're doing it right! Budget is limited hence the omnifit vs anything more spenny. Ideally we'd get the pipework done before but again budget is non-existent for upgrading the heating and we're trying to make the place as comfortable as possible within our means.

Yeah defo try the salvage place. Its great.
Just on experience, avoid painted doors that you might get stripped. We did this and found a huge chunk had woodworm/beetle damage after getting it stripped. They were really transparent and did say before we bought it that they can never guarantee whats underneath (apparently burnt wood is a common thing to find!!!?!).

Is it wide enough for double doors. You can get a fair few reclaimed "french" doorsets that are lovely. Basically the same as your picture. Glasgow Architectural Salvage had some lovely sets with glazing a while back.
Or again, a nice old pine door with some frosted glazing or whatever would work. Depends on the house age/aesthetic/vibe I guess.

I might be looking for a new front door soon and am very keen to get something as thermally efficient as possible, because Scotland. Any suppliers/brands that could be recommended?
Had some quotes from Nordan and am going to take a trip to their showroom, other than that I have no idea where to look!

Is that based on the location (kitchen) or based on the material generally?
