Hi everyone,
Selling my Major Brother frameset. It is quite a rare frame in original condition.
Some info on Major Brothers can be found here:
http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/builders/major-bros-builders.htmlBuilt from Reynolds 531.
Frame and fork matching number 20363. I believe to be late 50's.
Rider name painted on both sides of the top tube from the Ravensbury CC.
Campagnolo fork ends and dropouts.
Wrap over seat stays.
Braze on cable hanger for centre pull brakes.
Pump pegs on seat tube.
Braze on down tube shifters bosses.
Mudguards eyelets.
Nice detailed fork crown.
Seat tube 57cm CTT of seat tube and 56cm CTT of top tube
Top tube 56.5cm CTC
Front spacing 100mm
Rear spacing 121mm
Seatpost diameter 26.8mmThere are no dents or dings but the paint has got scratches and chips and some surface pitting, specially on the underside of the chain stays and behind fork blades. I do not think it should be re sprayed but that is down to each individual.
BB threads and rear mech thread all good.
There is a little bit of loose braze inside a fork blade and the is a little cut at the top of the steerer tube, on the inside where I had to cut free a stuck stem. But this did not affect the thread.

More pictures/info can be provided on request.
As it was built at last year's L'Eroica Britannia.

I'd like £250 for it.
I am coming to London this Saturday 14/2 in the morning until lunchtime so I could bring it down if anyone is interested or I can post at cost.
I still have some of the stuff on this thread that I could also bring.

Hi everyone,
Have got some frames and bars that are not needed.
Frames and bars can be viewed/picked up from Southend or I can post at cost.
Bars should be £3.20 1st Class apart from the Cinelli Giro d'Italia that would be £6 because exceeds Royal Mail small parcel size. Frames would be £15. Will double check.
I wil potentially be coming to London on Saturday 14th so I could drop a frame/bars but will confirm.More detailed pictures can be sent on request.
Dibs and pm or just a pm and I'll try to answer as soon as possible.
Cheers

Hi everyone,
I've recently bought a 1930's Claud Butler polo frame that I would like to restore.
I've found a catalogue scan online that mentions that the frames were finished in team colours. Main triangle one colour and forks and stays of a different one. It mentions a white and red frame in there but I am not that keen on the combination.
I have got a few colours in mind that I would like but I do not know if they were team colours and although I have found some info online it does not mention this.
So before I go ahead with what I like, I was wondering if anyone knows any old London bike polo club and its colours or where I can do a bit more research.
All help appreciated.
Cheers

Is sometimes a case, like this guy, of trial and error.
You might no necessarily need the same length. You will need the right axle length to give you not only a good chainline but also to clear the chainring off the chainstay.
So based on my previous experience it will depend on the chainring size you use (as the bigger the chainring the closer it will run to the chainstay, ie the longer the axle needed to clear) and the frame's wheelbase (the shorter the wheelbase the greater the angle the chainstays leave the bb shell to meet the rear spacing, ie the closer the chainring will run).
Hope it makes sense. -
