shit, if only I'd known about this thread when mine went a couple of years ago. they refused and refused to accept that the crank arm had simply snapped (almost identical to sergioflorez' pic above) and insisted that there must have been an accident I wasn't telling them about. I'd only had them for a 6-7 months so wanted my money back/replacement to sell so as a last resort I had to make a public comment on their facebook page complaining about terrible customer service. Next thing they were threatening to sue me for 'defamation of the brand' or words to that effect, that day I was hungover and fragile so I panicked and removed the post, couple of weeks after for some reason they changed their mind and sent me a replacement which I sold immediately.
TL/DR they're shit and not safe to ride, if I'd known about this thread I would have sent them a bunch of pics from here as proof that their product is whack and clearly not a one-off

thanks man, I have been using road shoes as opposed to mtb, with the cleats set up so that the pedal axle was roughly underneath the ball of my foot, as per various online sources. I'm pretty sure my feet would have been further forward with the pedals, so the axle would be closer so the middle of my foot, and never had them super tight, so there'd always be some movement back and forth and from side to side.
but I hadn't really considered that, I was thinking it's more likely to be the angle than the position relative to the axle so will have a look, thanks!

Looking for some advice please. I've been commuting around 25mi to and from work for the past 2.5 years, fixed gear. Back in April I got a new bike (fixed again, same 48x17 ratio) and switched from pedals & straps to SPDs for the first time. I was clueless so looked in to it online and saw that the alignment of the cleats is pretty important as getting it wrong can cause problems...
Played around with them for a bit and after a couple of test runs thought I'd got the positioning right and have been fine using them up until a couple of weeks ago when my right knee started aching. Foolishly, but mainly because I hate public transport, I ignored it for 4-5 days until I had to accept defeat and have been sans velo for the last 10 days or so. Knee still feels internally swollen, looks slightly swollen, is stiff and aches.I'm guessing, since only the right side is affected, that the right-hand cleat was not positioned properly after all? But I would have thought that would have become clear sooner than it did. As far as I know or can remember there wasn't a single event that could otherwise explain it.
Saw my GP, didn't have much to say, I feel like it's cycling related so was hoping to get an informed opinion here. Clearly the positioning of the cleats will vary from one foot to the next, but if there are any guidelines you know of I'd like to hear them!
Cheers

so this is the new go-to place for my slavery-fix? do I need to update my bookmarks? don't we need a HHSB definition that folks can use to complete their "i think you'll find..." statements in response to other folks who might start questioning the validity of certain HHSB-esque bikes posted here? i worry at what could happen if the internet is not regulated
