That's a very kind offer @lynx
The deck is provisionally taken now.

Anyone ordered the "jazz bundle" from Zavvi during recent Black Friday?
I've received mine and got a few duplicates.
Would like to swap for similar new/sealed/unplayed 180gr jazz vinyls, ideally from SE London as I'd like to avoid using the postal service for now since they all seem overwhelmed and running off their feet. -
Please forgive the lazy copy/paste from the other thread.
Now that my new-to-me Thorens is set up, I've got a spare deck.
Rega P3 deck, black plinth (no tonearm), single bolt design + platter + "smoke amber" P3 dust cover + felt mat. £70 [reserved]
Still available:
Rega RB220 tonearm (new in box). £200 [RRP £230]Collection SE25 or Canada Water (week-ends).
The tonearm is the newer 3-point system and a template is supplied as the plinth will need drilling.
I don't have any cartridge to offer.
Photos available on request. -

Picked up my speakers from Billy Vee today.
The bill was ridiculously low (£35 for parts and labour).
They even fitted a cartridge I didn't buy off them to a turntable that isn't from those brands they sell for free.
I can't fault them. Very nice, chilled place.
Will definitely spend more money there in the future. -
Shows how low the PM's advisors need to go to reach our leader's intellect.
The clip with Johnson's Twins analogy looked not only embarassing but he looked uneasy and clearly knew that a deal was now beyond his control. I don't think he has got any doubts that the People cannot forgive him because Jan-Feb are going to be horrible. -
Sad news, we received last week our notice on our studio by Canada Water. Seems like British Land is keen to get that regeneration started pronto. We were supposed to be in till end of 2021 (informally).
So with much stock to clear before Xmas, I'll be opening our studio to anyone after unique, quirky, ceramic pieces.
Purely by Appointment (Saturdays and Sundays from 12th Dec.) and 1 bubble at a time (max 2 peeps + me).
Pm me if you're interested.Etsy shop: PotsInTheCity
Pricing will be around Etsy minus 10% or lower.
Location : between Canada Water and Surrey Quays (old police station)Thanks

Right now my system is lacking a working turntable. :)
Those are my options (besides buying a brand new P3 2020 model) currently.
I've spent already north of £300 on the "to-be-built" P3.
I must admit the Thorens is/was very tempting deal at (only) 200 notes.
I'm trying to get the best sound "on a budget" with that tt. My only experience with vinyl as a source is a P1 (now sold).Rest of my system is currently: Marantz 6010 OSE KI amp + B&W D601 S2 speakers (in future will be replaced with smaller floorstanders) + Philips 610 mkII cd player.
-
I'm using the phono stage from my amp (Marantz 6010 OSE KI sig.).
Was not particularly planning on adding another box ie a dedicated phono stage when my amp has one. But then again, I've not experience with any ph.st.
The Thorens although attractive seems more hard work and it's more of a gamble since 1) I know nothing about suspended decks, and 2) won't be able to listen to it before purchase (should I decide to go for it). -
I'm actually in contact with them. They will be servicing my speakers shortly (damaged back plate).
And hopefully can build up the P3 bits I have gathered so far some time next week.
Yes agree they (Ian) sound lovely and helpful whenever I spoke to him during Lockdown 2.0.
Glad they've reopened now. -
I'm considering 2 options for my turntable upgrade.
I've been offered a Thorens TD166 mkII for £200 (no cartridge).
Or I've got my Rega P3, RB220 arm (new), upgrade external rewiring kit, and an E3. All this as a kit and needs to be built.Main question is which is likely to sound best? (Could use the E3 on the Thorens as stopgap although I have my eyes on either 2M Blue or AT V540)

I have been having issues with the Marantz CD player cutting out very briefly on some tracks.
I did try to clean it up including the lens however it's still happening.
So yesterday I replaced it with an even older machine (Philips 610) and not only it plays perfectly (so far) but the brightness I mentioned earlier with the Marantz amp+cd has gone.
It all sounds pretty good now even if the bass is still too timid. I guess it's down the speakers. Still very happy.
Now to build a decent tt. -

Thanks. Good idea. I wasn't sure whether that was allowed. (if not then just shout and I'll delete the post)

I have a Marantz CD-48 in my system powered by another Marantz piece (PM6010 OSE KI sig.).
I find there is a bit (lot?) of brightness in the sound and instruments don't sound that natural, with a lack of bass (for me).
I have been offered a Rega Apollo (mk. I) for £260. Is that a good option to remedy the brightness/no bass situation? And 2, is that a fair price for it given it's fairly old now? -

I sold on ebay a car exhaust (backboxes) to a chap in NI.
What are the chances of the large parcels being stuck or returned to me in London?
