^ Do you have any foot retention? This would help prevent your feet flying off the pedals. I don't think riding fixed is a skill so much as a technique that needs a little practise. :)

Miss Mouse, what's the situation with return tickets now?

I had kind of decided against it this year - new baby at home and been out of the saddle a bit for the last few months. However, as it approaches I really fancy the ride to the seaside again...

Need a way home though.

but I know coach tickets have now sold out.

However, there is a waiting list enabled so if you place yourself on this list you will have an opportunity to buy any tickets that are no longer required. The e-ticketing system we are now using will manage this, so there is no manual intervention by Southwark Cyclists.

I get between 6 and 8, I think. It is hard to tell as I wake up at about 4.30am every morning and think "oh god why" and then try to go back to sleep until 7am, but keep waking up again every twenty minutes or so to think "oh god why" ad nauseum.

Maybe you could train yourself to ask slightly less rhetorical questions?

Such as:

Oh God, what should I believe: Darwin or Genesis?
Oh God, is time travel consistent with the laws of logic?
Oh God, how do I get hold of a 'Fanny' Irn-Bru?
Oh God, how can I get on the Jeremy Kyle show?
etc.......

That way you could lie in bed having more constructive conversations.

The Hammersmith Palais has a lot to answer for.

The ting is though, methadone and subutex are just other (expensive) drugs, so in using these, the irrational, powerless, addict mind-set is not dealt with, nor is the emotional sickness within, and the chances of relapsing in to illegal drugs remains high.

Were his circumstances all that different from any other addict? Drugs are drugs. His life was clearly pretty grim towards the end of his usage.

He's beaten an addiction, which I think gives him the right to have his opinion listened to.

I have to admit that I have been quite impressed by what he has said and written.

I also thought that TV doc he did was excellent, as was his music gig raising awareness of addiction.

AND he's funny, though probably impossible to live with.

Yes it probably is discriminatory - but to be fair Rich hasn't gone that far - all he's said is "We'd like to represent women amongst the staff a little bit more."
