looking fantastic! (apart from the cracked dropouts obs) love the finish you have on the bamboo.
re the dropouts: i wonder if there is quite a large turning moment that pivots around the base of the seat-stays. your rear axle sits cantilevered out a lot further than traditional dropouts (if i think i understand the design of them correctly).
anyway on the repair make sure the carbon weave goes both parallel and perpendicular to the chain stays and you apply lots and lots of it and overlap it as much as possible over the dropouts and the chain-stays and it should be fine. perhaps ride it a bit before applying the beauty layer!
I've been riding my bamboo bike for 6 months or so now and so far its holding up great.
good luck! don't let this set back stop you from riding it into the sunset

thanks loctez. for the seat tube/post, i wrapped the seatpost in cling film (to stop the epoxy sticking) then wrapped it with carbon and epoxy to end up with a tight fitting carbon tube. i butted this straight onto the bamboo seat tube and built up the joint a lot with uni-directional carbon tape. i then cut off most of the seatpost and clamped the end bit onto the frame. it doesn't leave much room for adjustment and its probably not the lightest solution but its sized for me anyway.
the seat tube and top tube i found in the skip of a garden nursery. they used to be the poles of a bamboo umbrella/sun shade so they were free. the rest is from http://ukbamboosupplies.co.uk. if you ring them up they will do a special bamboo bike frame pack for £60. its expensive but they put in the pack only the straightest uncracked poles so its probably worth it. the donor frame was £20 and the epoxy and carbon came to £60 with quite a bit of both left over.

hello everyone.
i know its finished so its not exactly a current project but i thought i would put up some of the build photos from my bamboo frame up on here. i know there are a few other bamboo builds going on at the moment so if anyone has any questions, i would be more than happy to answer them. thanks to everybody i bought bits from on this forum to complete the build!
i pretty much followed exactly this guys build method:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Build-a-Bamboo-Bicycle-And-Light-it-up/?ALLSTEPS
only real difference is i grafted (carbonned?) on a homemade carbon seat tube as i used smaller diameter bamboo poles so couldn't get a seat tube inside. also i burnt the poles to make them much darker and dry them out as much as possible. the dark colour is only skin deep so won't affect the strength.
anyway she rides like a dream! very happy. might put an internal hub gear on eventually for longer rides, hence the brake bridge.

thanks for the wheels varno. theyre really great and arrived amazingly quickly.
quite a surprise to be sent a second set for free though! it was a great touch and very much appreciated but i felt i couldn't accept this gift from you so the courier is sending them back to you. thanks again and if you feel like sending me some carbon wheels for free next time i might not be able to refuse!

by another bizarre coincidence i am also making a bamboo frame! ive got the bamboo, epoxy, old frame (a create shit heap), carbon etc. bought a blow torch too to heat treat the bamboo and make the poles nice and dark.
i found this instructables really helpful/inspirational:
