I'm currently building a bike for my missus!
She keeps saying she wants to come on rides with me, also neither of us drive and both live within cycling distance to work/uni. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to build her one, especially with her birthday coming up in August.
So I bought this frame and I'm building it completely in secret, if I can keep it secret!
I got her playing on this without making it obvious I was upto something, so now I know what direction to go in with the bike :)

Okay so I got the left side crank arm off, they had 2 nuts in which needed removing first, but whilst loosening the left side, the extractor snapped! Damn old bikes! Got the left side of the bottom bracket out too. Any idea how to get the right side off without extractor? Ive got the nut off both sides.
Also does anybody happen to know what size replacement bottom bracket I would need, converting it to fixed. Or a way of measuring it?
Sorry for the n00b questions!

Picked up a bargain bike that is going to be my project for the missus as she's after a bike! The bike is a 1970's Coventry Eagle, wondering if anybody could help on what year it may be? Got the bike from snottyotter off the forum.
Anyway the bike is going to be as a birthday present for her in August so its going to be a slow and steady build but there's plenty to do! So trying to build this in secret shall be fun!
This is the photo taken before I collected it, got it home and wasted no time in stripping and seeing whats salvageable etc...

I'm having trouble getting the crankarms off using my removal tool, wont thread on. So I'm assuming its different with older frames? I'm only used to bmx and newer frames! Never worked with a vintage!
Plans are to build it up with lots of chrome goodies and get it powdercoated ones I've managed to find out what colour I should go for!

Took a link out the chain this morning to slam the rear wheel as much as possible, 1 link is all I could get out of it! Also took the headset apart and gave it a good grease up and gave it a general service ready for a big ride tomorrow!

I'm gonna wait till the rear tyre needs replacing till I get a matching set of tyres too.

Mike burrows carbon seatpost purchased and fitted, photo also shows the same chunky stem sprayed black, looking for a new stem due to the crack now though!
Next on the list is to replace the headset, then I think that's going to be pretty much it to see me through summer!
