you dont clearcoat powdercoat I believe.
It is essentially a layer of plastic dust that is sprayed onto the frame and stick, its then all melted together in the oven forming a 'shell'. Gloss and strength is dependant upon what the paint powder consists of.
If would have been nice to have known this before I paid extra for a clearcoat!

How's everyone finding there mielecs anyway? I'm having a blast with mine although the paint seems sort of shitty, I'm getting a lot of chips on the seat tube from locking up already, I'm thinking maybe they forgot the clearcoat, they got the colour wrong so I wouldn't be surprised. Is there a way to tell if it has been clearcoated?

I have literally no idea what I'm talking about by the way, I've only lost weight through almost complete fluke. I don't think I have time to do any more exercise than I'm currently doing at the moment so I reckon an improved diet is the way forwards. I think recently becoming single might help, my girlfriend was always one for biggish portions and comfort food. I'm at the lightest I've been in my adult life and relatively close to my ideal weight so I'm feeling fairly motivated to shift the excess at the moment!

Ah well, nevermind, I'm in too good a mood this week to care about a few chips in some paint!
