Replaced with black bontrager tape as soon as I possibly could. I was going to go for fizik microtex soft touch but the shop I was in didn't stock it so I thought I'd give the bontrager stuff a go, seems alright so far.

The red tape lasted less than 12 hours, seriously, what was I thinking?

They're all hand made so maybe you just got a dud? My experiences with restrap's customer service has been excellent so I'm sure they'd exchange them for you if they were faulty!

I think I'm going to go for some black microtex soft touch. It's half the price of the lizard skin, I prefer the look and it's served me well for years. Did I mention it's half the price?

I've whacked some deda cronenero low riders on my Mielec for maximum slave points. Going to wrap them in bright red microtex for maximum "now why did I think that would look good?" Points.

Quick update. The bars feel great, the tape looks fucking terrible! I need to get some black soft touch as a matter of urgency!

I saw some mug on a dodgy mountain bike come close to getting sandwiched between a double decker bus and a white van on my ride to work yesterday morning. The best part is that he overtook me as I was slowing down to avoid having to squeeze through an ever narrowing gap, saying "fucking hell mate, come on". I didn't say anything after I passed him a few seconds later but he was white as a sheet!
