Thing is, we don’t get a frost until something like December. By then, everything has been bare for many months. Same with medlars, they’re looooong gone by the time there’s a frost.

I did actually freeze my sloes this time. I don’t usually, but I wasn’t sure when I was going to get a chance to bottle up so I temporarily put them in the freezer for storage.

They normally say wait until Christmas, so 2-3 months 👍

Also got my sloe gin going. Bit early for the sloes but I’m probably not going to get another chance to collect any this year. Recipe on the side in a 1 litre bottle. I like my sloe gin quite ginny and not too sweet.

Loads of those tiny plums around here. Colours range from yellow, pink, bright red to deep purple. They make great jam 👍

I don't have any direct experience but I think you need to see an orthodontist rather than a dentist. There are loads of options these days from caps and fascias, conventional braces, to full-on implants. I guess it just depends on how much you can spend, because all of these procedures are wildly expensive.

My bad knee is feeling a bit squishy so I’ve been doing a few more of miles on this as it’s got gears. Did one of my normal 20 mile road routes this morning via a mate’s house for breakfast. So that’s like 68 miles on this bike this week. Was interested to see this mtb vs roady not waving back at each other thing that was being talked about on another forum. First bike I saw at 7am was a roady waving at me and I almost missed him! Most did not initiate a wave but waved back, until it got a bit later and the group riders were out and most of them did not wave back or even acknowledge. Fun ride though and I enjoyed my merguez sausages, fried potatoes and beans at my mate’s house.
