@pdlouche interesting analysis of the shoe itself - I hadn't considered it that way.
Looking for other brands to try outside of the established loake/cheaney/church etc brands. have been toying with the idea of Meermin but thier boot selection isn't the best.

@TM
You definitely could pop an Alfine hub in, dead easy with the eccentric bottom bracket. Not the way I want to go though - this is just the start of a clear out and refresh of the bike stable....You have seperate pm on the wheels

Having spent entirely too long browsing through the pages of FBNPNA and associated builds I ended up buying a Pinnacle Arkose single speed in what can only be described as their splatter paint camouflage scheme.
The first thing I did was get rid of the chain set it was supplied with - some MTB chainset made out of pig iron and replaced it with a nice Campag centaur chain set and matching TA Specialities Chainring. Then some much nicer wheels from Just Riding Along and a tubus rack. Wired it for dynamo lighting and happily commuted on it for three months before I moved offices and the bike became completely impractical. 12 months later It needs to go as I never ride it.

Up for sale, as I now have a Surface pro, is this rather nice Dell laptop. This was their top of the range touch screen ultrabook 18 months-2 years ago and remains an awesome bit of kit* Key specs as follows
Brand Dell
Item Weight 1.3 Kg
Series 9343
Screen Size 13.3 inches
Screen Resolution 3200 x 1800 pixels
Processor Type Core i7
Processor Speed 2.4 GHz
RAM Size 8 GB
SSD 256 GBOriginally bought to use for business travel and has probably only done 10 trips, when not travelling it has not been in use. As such the battery is still in excellent condition. It has been upgraded to windows 10 and blanked of data.
There is some wear and tear in terms of scuffs/rubbing on the reverse of the screen as shown in the attached photos.
I am looking for GBP 450.
Pick up in EC3 or SW9 preferred but willing to post to UK addresses only and P&P will be GBP 15 for special delivery.
Cash preferred, if payment is by paypal, buyer pays paypal fees.
- I know some people have horrible experiences with Dell laptops. My experience has been universally good across 4 models.

All US citizens are required to pay tax to the US treasury, even if they are not resident in the USA. FATCA is a grotesque and over reaching piece of legislation that is supposed to stop US citizens hiding acorns overseas....
Now the penalties to a bank for not compiling with FATCA are obscene and if its a choice of losing your business or being non compliant under FATCA - they will drop you like a stone.
I suspect the reason they think you might be a reportable person is because they don't know your citizenship - if they knew they could allocate you to one of the buckets -reportable or non-reportable but in the absence of any information you are just a regulatory risk to the bank.

ETFs are a different kettle of fish - although you are buying a single name stock, the performance of that stock is linked to a basket of underlying securities so you get the diversification you would not have by just buying the two stocks you mentioned - which is a good thing.
Good luck whatever you do; try and find a way to manage the risk that works for you
-
how would you feel about losing 50% of you money - not saying it will happen but its a risk if you put all of your money in 2 individual stocks.
If you are looking at the stock market 4 thoughts
1: decide on your asset allocation model - you can find these for free by going onto the website of IFAs and playing with their models - broadly tell them how risk tolerant you are and they will suggest a portfolio. Do it on a couple of different websites to get an idea
2: the only thing you can control are the ongoing costs of your investments, which negatively impact your overal return. For small investors - say less than GBP 10,000 - I cannot see the reason for having actively managed investments.
3: Understand pound cost averaging and how it works for you.
4: You cannot time the market - if you could you would already be in front of a blomberg terminal, trading. One of my favourite resources for this kind of discussion is http://thereformedbroker.com/
