Didn't make it to CBR but went and met a few ex-colleagues after they'd been to the trade session and checked out a couple of the after events. Had a few of the newish Camden flue faker smoked lager which I enjoyed more than the new breakfast stout, good to see them putting out interesting new stuff after the buy out. Can't say I was too excited about the forest road 'work' IPA, liked the branding though

Went to the beavertown thing at the weekend but didn't have a whole lot of fun. Got there at about half 1, queued for an hour and a half and made it through just before they closed the gates behind us. The volume of people just meant that you had to plan everything in advance (am I going to need to go to the loo in the next half hour?) and took the fun out of it a bit. Had a great night out after though

Just pushed the button on a pair of Trickers Bourton Brogues with a Dainite sole and natural storm welt. Have never spent anything close to that on a pair of shoes before so here's hoping I still like them when I'm 40

Definitely heading to the Beavertown birthday thing. Rainbow project was a great day and this looks even better. Read a good interview with Logan the other day, I'll dig out a link

Started the weekend with Mikkeller's Sort Kaffe

Had a couple of pints of Redwell West Coast Pale last night and was surprised by how good it was. Have always thought Redwell were ok but hadn't had anything standout previously.

There's a Stillwater takeover on at Mother Kelly's so might drop by there after work and check it out

Just opened the only cold beer, Brouwerij Kees Just another IPA. I'd somehow overlooked that it was a Belgian IPA in the shop and now I'm thoroughly disappointed. It's only that there's nothing else cold stopping it from going down the drain.

Just moved onto a Buxton Yellow Belly Sundae, it's incredible. Hop valley proxima IPA before thats, also really good

Started the morning with De Struisse Black Albert (once Id got rid of the champagne), the same as every Christmas morning for the last few years. Had a Double Mountain Hop Lava northwest IPA which was a new brewery to me. Spent £70 in the local craft beer shop yesterday so I'm going to be pretty set for the next couple of days, the half gallon of Odells St Lupulus got me off to a pretty good start last night

Bought my Dad a totally selfless bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue as I'm leaving Diageo in a week or two and I've never tried it. Looking forward to that on Boxing Day.

ABInbev have also just bought Breckenridge brewery, Colorado. Not that I'd heard of them prior to that.

Kernel tap takeover at the Kings Arms was good last night. Stuck to the pales and IPAs as they're pretty much the best at them

Checked out a few places in Leeds last night. Evil twin & Lervig collaboration was definitely the weirdest, 17.5% imperial stout brewed with frozen pizza and money
