Please Nhatt...don't turn it into another 'having a go at me' issue.
I was simply responding to your post just the same as others have, and I stand by what i say.
The way people learn to do things is by doing things.
There are hundreds of tutorials, notably ones by Park tools, which are perfect for helping people to learn to do things for themselves, and telling them exactly what to look out for.Your post seemed very dismissive of this and implied that if you don't already have the knowledge, then you should just take it to a bike shop, which seemed a strange comment for somebody to make who is organizing a bike maintenance class..
I'm not the only person who commented on your post or disagreed with it, so there's really no need to 'take this up personally'.
I'll leave you to it as you seem to take personal offence to me posting in the same threads as you.
To the OP...I say have a go at putting it together yourself...it's much more rewarding, and if there is anything specific you get stuck on, just ask, there will be plenty of people on here willing to talk you through it I'm sure.

"If you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be doing it"
Will you be using that as the tagline for your women's bike maintenance classes you're organizing?
Surely assuming that somebody won't be able to build a bike by watching somebody else do it, and suggesting they just take it to a bike shop goes against what you're trying to promote no?If that were true then nobody would ever learn anything for themselves.

Shitty phone pic, but this is the belt.
It's hardcore 2" wide webbing which is stitched double thick for about 2/3rds of its length to better support weight...It's then left single thickness for the remaining part which passes through the adjustable half of the buckle. The metal tri glide then tidies up the excess and prevents any creeping back through the buckle.Once I have more buckles I will make some more of them.

The five INDIGO pouches above will be finished this weekend so I'll PM people to arrange collection/delivery.
I was hoping to get straight onto a big bag next, but I'm going to have to go onto another batch of the smaller VIOLET pouches instead.
It'll be payment up front again and as soon as they're ready I'll arrange collection/delivery.
They're £5O each as before...if you want one and can pay by transfer straight away, add your name to the list and PM me for payment details.Cheers!
Get them while I'm still around!

As with anybody, it would depend on his behaviour. Don Walker didn't respect the etiquette of this thread, Dave Porter made claims for product performance he couldn't back up. Other frame builders and product manufacturers have got along fine here. Respect cuts both ways.
In case you hadn't noticed, this thread has no fucking etiquette!
You're not the judge, jury, and executioner, Dave Porter wasn't on trial, and he wasn't trying to sell his frames to anybody.
He had no need to back up his claims any more than he did.
You didn't treat him with respect right from the start.
You were in attack mode as soon as he began to defend his design.
Read your responses to everything he said...that wasn't respect or etiquette.Every frame, component, and bike builder on the market makes claims about their kit being strongest, fastest, lightest, whatever...they don't have to come and run their facts and figures past mdcc tester before people are allowed to like them, and their claims are also largely unsubstantiated.
Even if they showed facts and figures, it would mean nothing to most people. The guy designed a bike, the bike was ridden, people broke some records on them...there is no need to then produce lab work results to go with it just to please a couple of people on LFGSS.
Likewise, there is no need for people on LFGSS to cross examine everything he then says because he chooses not to.A big part of treating people with respect is knowing when to shut the fuck up and realize that you've said enough.
That point for me is right here.

Now fuck off back to Albuquerque
....And so another frame builder with years of experience hand making the very thing which originally attracted us all to this place leaves the forum.
It's totally understandable that somebody who has spent the best part of their life building bike frames will defend their skills and ideas, especially if records have been broken on those very bikes...regardless of how big or small a part the frames details played.
And yet the same old people just never let it lie...they have to keep going on and on, trying to win their stupid little arguments and prove some kind of point.
No respect for the fact that here is someone who has spent their life building bikes, trying new ideas, and has results to show for their time.@mdcc tester...maybe if you had got Dave Porter to drill a few holes in that fucking huge chip on your shoulder you might have broken a few more records and been in a better position to belittle others achievements.

To anybody who has one of my belts, I now have black powdercoated steel tri glides to add to them.
These allow you to set the length at the buckle and then lock the excess belt down tight and not have any chance of slipping or re-adjusting.
Just clip and go. :]just let me know if you want one. I'm using one on mine and they work great.
