Never been to the Arab Boy myself but the red lion is nice. Was just looking for a couple of pubs between the bricklayers and the ship.

Right at the risk of kicking everything off again, there was a plan for a tour starting at the Bricklayers at 18:00 tonight, is this still going ahead? Or for the sake of harmony are we just going to go to the pub?

Hence the proposal for jelly wrestling. I find that once everyone gets there its generally quite light and humorous, but its the on-line bitching that will put people off, hiding behind the anonymity of the internet with an in-depth personal knowledge of people and what buttons to push can be dangerous.

P.S I do realise that I am a relative newcomer myself

It is apparent to me that wherever we go for west beers someone is going to take issue with the establishment. However this ongoing argument about the Old Ship / Peartree is starting to get really old and the main protagonists in this ongoing pissing match do not appear to be willing to compromise, I can see both sides of the argument and both sides have valid points.

I have said it before and will now repeat myself; I honestly believe that the most important part about Thursday nights is the people, not where we go.

To this end I would like to propose some possible solutions:

1. We organise a jelly wrestling competition between T4NY4 and bodieanddoyle (D-locks/tasers to be strictly prohibited) the winner gets to decide the future venue. This would be pointless but IMHO fucking hilarious.

2. We give everyone a set time limit to find a new pub that has not previously been frequented by wests on a Thursday, over the course of several weeks try out all of the pubs and decide as a group which is best suited to our needs.

3. Nominate a group of people (4-5 should do) to select a pub, these people then set up shop on their favoured pub on one Thursday the other westies then get to try out said pubs giving scores, pub/individual with the highest score wins.

Just suggestions I don't really care where the venue is (as long as it isn't a weatherspoons) but whatever happens we need to stop this persistent moaning, as this will REALLY put off any newcomers to the forum that want to enjoy a drink with like minded individuals on a Thursday evening

I enjoy the crawls, don't care who turns up, last week was good we went to the ship but only OLC was there as far as I can tell two other people turned up and left before we got there. Lots of others did not turn up due to the weather we stayed at the ship for a pint and moved on, is the weather and lack of attendance the fault of those who were on a pub crawl?
