Carefully scribed the work piece to .25mm tolerance - check.
Lined up all the other components to make sure it all fits together properly - check.
Marked for biscuit placement to ensure correct alignment - check.
If I quickly get these biscuit mortices cut I can get this in now and I'll be ahead in the morning.
🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
Why the fuck did I rush? I don't even have an apprentice to blame these days!
EDIT - fuck it I'm going to the pub on my way home.

Starmers history he must know if he's in trouble or not.
Very true. Given what we've been through in last 20 odd years with regards to political leaders:
- Man who lied to take us into an illegal war with no credible exit plan, all because he didn't want to stand up to the Americans when they were (rightly) very angry.
- Man who schemed and briefed against his predecessor because it was "his turn".
- Dickhead who ruined the country because he was trying to be clever and silence lunatics in his own party and in the process allowed their lying bullshit to become mainstream then ran away.
- Idiot who wanted the job but didn't agree with the political realities of where her party was so ummed and ahhed only making things worse.
- Wheredoifuckingstart
I'd much rather believe that he is doing this to buck the trend and demonstrate his, and his parties, integrity. I realise that this is being pretty naive but if he and the Labour party can convince me of it I'll not work for the entire period of purdah at the next general election and volunteer round the fucking clock for them.

knocking down and filling the dips followed by lining paper might be the way to go.
Bingo.
From the photos this seems to be the most sensible way to do it, and what I'd do. It won't be a nice job and you should invest in a decent dust mask and keep any little ones away while the sanding is going on. You'll also need to apply a mist coat before lining and pay close attention to any filling required.

Away from elections, it would appear that Gus Fring has moved from chicken restaurants and meth to coffee pods and coke

And I don't know what steel the 18mm Magnusson chisel is made from
I have cheap chisels that are considerably harder than any of my more expensive ones, but some of the chisels that came in the same set are so soft that they may as well be made of cheese. The best chisels are hard enough that they will hold an edge but most importantly the hardness is consistent.
There's a perversion in the geometry where you can see the line getting closer to the edge, but the closer you get the more material needs to be removed so it takes longer and longer to make progress.
This is why spending £400+ on a Tormek will eventually start appealing to you.

The filter clean cycle is noisy but just sounds like muted banging. If you are using normal bags you don't need to have it engaged.
Muted banging is an improvement on it sounds like you're knocking down walls!
Also my Bosch has a 35 litre capacity so the idea of a smaller unit appeals.
Cheers for the info.

The best advice I can give to anyone considering re-pointing is to pay someone else to do it. It really is a painful job, the dust created when taking out the old mortar is seriously bad for you. The actual task of pointing while not technically difficult to do is hard to do well and is dependant on technique as well as a good knowledge of when to use the muck and how to strike the pointing. Flush, weather strike, bucket handle to name a few styles all require slightly different technique and tools.
Here is some examples for pointing enthusiasts:

@Airhead and any other festool fans
How noisy is the filter clearance cycle on the Festool CTL / CTM m-class extractor?
Also do you have any experience with the heavy duty empty-able Festool bags?
Finally do you know if the Bluetooth automatic switch on gizmo only works with Festool Bluetooth modules or other tool manufacturers?
I'm in the market for a second portable dust extractor and while I really rate my Bosch one it's huge, fuken noisy when the filter clears and you can't empty the dust bags so expensive to run long term (unless you like it beeping constantly because the filter is blocked). The Festool ones are more compact and pack up nicer.

If you're anywhere near North or west London I have a 2nd fix nail gun you can borrow for a couple of days. This way pilot holes are not needed
Re drilling pilot holes, if you're using pins the best way to drill them is to cut the head off a pin then stick it in a drill chuck. Works every time and MUCH less likely to snap than the equivalent drill bit also is cheap.
I cut the mortices on the wrong face. The face I did cut them on will be visible when the unit is complete.
I am a dick because I rushed and therefore fucked up.
