Had a brief look at that as an option but I probably don't need that level of storage/expansion capability and don't really want to spend that much either. What would be the main advantages (apart from storage capacity/expansion) of running a NAS rather than just storing everything on a 2TB mini PC?

Looking to set up a small server for WFH and considering just bunging it on a mini PC (think GSKtec G3/G5 sort of thing) as it'll only really be a glorified hard drive for keeping all my work files on. Anyone got any recommendations as to how to go about doing that? Can I run it all off Windows 11 and just map a network drive? Zero experience with doing this, but thinking it can't be that difficult, can it? Anything else I should consider instead?
Cheers.

You could try looking at some of the London Loop or Capital Ring sections. All designed to be reachable by public transport and usually feature shade/pubs/interesting stuff to look at, etc. I've done all the ones near SE London and can recommend sections 1, 2 and 3 of the Loop and the first four sections of the Capital ring.

Did most of the Vanguard Way last week, but had to bail out at Chiddingly due to my daughter being unable to walk any further in her ill-fitting boots. Have to say mine (Merrell Moab 3) didn't exactly live up to their 'waterproof' billing either, which made what was a pretty muddy walk soggier than it perhaps should have been.
Anyone got any recommendations for actually waterproof walking boots? 'cos the Merrells are absolutely not cutting it. I'd hesitate to say they're even water-resistant.
As for the route, it was terrific. Reasonably well waymarked, plenty of incredible views and enough refreshment stops. Actually looks like a really long pub crawl as there appears to be a pub at the end of each section. Unfortunately for us, the soaking it got in the week leading up to our attempt rendered a lot of the bridleways borderline impassable.

By all accounts, the new internet ordering system makes it a bit easier to pick up a couple of crates than the old 'phone up and get the engaged tone' system. Strictly speaking, it's not meant to be resold, though.
E2a: bar looks good. Would happily spend a few hours working through the list/fridge.

That looks ace. A bit beyond my capabilities at the moment, but working my way up to that amount of distance/elevation this year.
I'm doing the Vanguard Way at the end of the month from Croydon to Newhaven, which while not as hilly is still pretty hefty in terms of length. Splitting it into three days, so averaging c.35km a day.
