Anyone got any tips on posting a guitar?
I'm thinking of selling my Kramer DMZ 3000 and short of sending it in a hard case (which I don't have) I'm not sure how much I should be reinforcing the package. I sold a cheap Danelectro years ago that I just put in a cardboard guitar box with plenty of padding but this is worth more and is quite a lot heavier...

I just worked out my BMI and at just over 90kg I'm only 3kg below the upper 'healthy' limit! I seem to remember reading somewhere that the recommendations may be slightly skewed for taller people (I'm 6' 4") but even so it looks like I could afford to lose a fair bit of weight.
I don't eat meat and have recently (for reasons unrelated to weight) decided to pack booze in for the foreseeable future. I'm also beginning to cut down on sugar/general crap intake. It'll be interesting to see how much difference this makes now I'm an old cunt as I used to weigh less than 12 stone when I was young and very poor.
What a cool story.

As you can see both pairs are pretty crumpled due to poor/non-existent folding technique on my part when putting them in the drawer.
However, they're currently in the wash and will be line-dried nice and smooth toot sweet! -
that bit in AK where he ******s *****n into the young lads *********d made my fucking blood run cold.
He's such a great actor, i suspect he's had bit / blink-and-you'll-miss-it parts in loads of films. i'd like to see him in more things.
Great skanky performance in Killing Them Softly. On a side note I chuckle whenever I think about the extremely sawn-off shotgun in that film.

Stern - I've not put a huge amount of miles on the Kursks so can't comment on their long term durability but they seem pretty solid, with a nice stiff sole. They are big though, perhaps even a touch bigger than the Specialized 48's!
I've ended up just using one pair of shoes for everything, hence this sale. I'm such a cycle twat these days that a pair of velcro-fastening mtb shoes look perfectly acceptable to me with jeans when I go down the pub!

I'm having a bit of a clearout and I've got some clipless shoes for the large-footed gentlemen, priced to sell!
Specialized Primo mtb shoe EU 48 - Fairly well used but plenty of life left in them - £14 posted
Specialized Sonoma mtb shoe EU 48 - As new, these haven't even had cleats fitted - sold
Chrome Kursk Pro UK 13 - A few small marks, great condition overall - £30 posted

Finished Fahrenheit 451 - wasn't mad about it to be honest, it was readable enough but I struggled to stay motivated beyond the early promise of his meeting Clarissa - I get why the general premise is compared with Orwell, but I find Orwell's style clearer and much deeper.......it actually made me think of Huxley's Brave New World, although that is a better book I think
I was underwhelmed by Fahrenheit 451 too. I think the premise is more interesting than the actual story.

I'm off to Leeds. Cheap, close to the mountains and entire houses for rent at less that £500 at month. I can buy for under £100k too.
I’ve just been approved for a mortgage with my gf, we’re in Leeds. 3 bed semis with good size gardens in decent areas currently on for around £120-150k. There are a few detached houses for around that price too (drumkit you say?). You can get a terrace in a less desirable area (but still not da ghetto) for around £70k. My sis bought a flat in Hove last year, dread to think how much it cost!
Of course the downside is you have to work dahn t'pit and rub shoulders with scummy northern people everyday!

Now deciding what to start next, The Picture of Dorian Gray or Agatha Christie's The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
I realize it's no secret how good it is, but Dorian Gray really is fantastic.
John Fante is next on the list.
I think Ask The Dust is generally considered his best but I loved Wait Until Spring, Bandini. Maybe because it was the first one of his I read.

Clearing out the cave in anticipation of a house move. I'm up North so prices include postage.
NJS Nitto Jag stem 120mm - £35 posted
Very good nick apart from a light scratch (can be seen in the close photo). I imagine it'll buff out if you're that way inclined.
NJS Nitto Jag seatpost 27.0mm - £35 postedA few scratches, mainly below min insertion line, as you can see in the photo.
NJS Nitto B125 steel track drops 38cm- soldPretty much as new condition. I weep at the beauty of these bars combined with a jag stem but my creaky old back can't take that kind of riding position any more.
Nitto RB010AA bullhorns- soldA couple of very light marks here and there, nothing very noticeable though. These are a beautiful shape and my preferred everyday bars but I currently have two pairs and one tarck bike.
Dura Ace 54T track chainring- soldUsed but with plenty of life left.
