Yeah the boyfriend pointed that out yesterday. Varg means wolf in Swedish...and commented that kind of nickname was probably cool 20 years ago. Burn.
So he had a cool nickname when it was cool, then didn't get rid of it when the trend changed... More a compliment than a burn, really (and it's not like it's difficult to find something insulting about the guy). Did anything come of his recent arrest?

Not talking about the large bolt in the middle of the crank, talking about the four or five smaller bolts holding the chainring to the crank arm - except mine has but a single bolt (and only space for one bolt). Guess we've found the problem.
Any suggestions on a new chainset? Mine has 39 teeth and I wouldn't mind a few more...

^ I often alternate yoga with going to the gym or doing some other fairly strenuous activity. Unless you're doing some kind of "power yoga" or other "fitness" style (as opposed to stretching, holding, breathing kinds) you should be right alternating that and whatever else.
I do mine from a book or video (plenty on youtube) to avoid the aforementioned sex pest types (surprisingly common at classes that aren't part of gym membership) and messianic hippies. That said, having a good instructor that comes around to correct your positions can be really helpful. However, while at home you can fart to your heart's content.

I ride quite a crappy fixed gear bike and the chain always feels loose because the bolt that secures the crank arm to the chainring constantly loosens itself. I can tighten it with the force of a thousand suns and after a ride or two it is once again loose, and will continue to loosen until it begins rubbing against the chainstay (if left unchecked). Is there a simple way to fix this, or do I just have a shitty chainset that I possibly need to replace?

Unfashionable as it is to acknowledge it, hacks are people too. And while intellectually it's logical and reasonable and right to argue that deaths in the west shouldn't be worth more than deaths in further flung countries, your typical Anglo Saxon domestic journalist is going to relate much more readily to a pretty 29 year old bar manager who had a leg blown off and bled to death on a Boston sidewalk than to some nameless people in a village in the Pakistani tribal areas who were blown to bits by a missile launched from a drone. It's not right, but it is human. People relate quicker to what they know. And back when I first idealistically decided I wanted to be a journalist, it was because I wanted to help people relate more readily to things they wouldn't otherwise know or understand. Not everyone in the profession feels the same way, just like not everyone in the world feels the same way.
What a weak, sycophantic excuse. If you spend 3+ years in a Western university (as these journo's do) you've had ample chance to expand your horizons and scope of empathy to include a broader spectrum of your fellow human beings than just white young professionals.

Wanted some 90s film so I watched Election yesterday. It has a fun rhythm of development that kept me angry enough (about gender issues and character cliches) to stay interested. Reese Witherspoon finds a fantastic balance between self-satisfaction and defiance for her character.

]Went and bought the digital EP a little while ago, was disappointed that it sounded pretty metalcore (recording was good tho, so if you're into the style its an irrelevant complaint), but i do like that its a band that wears their politics on their sleeve.
I see a lot of old bands posted in this thread, how does diy punk look in your part of the UK today? (I don't live there so I dunno)
